Wondering who's trying it out?

What are your thoughts so far?

I picked up a bag of "Hydro Blend" (not listed on their site) for seed starting.
Ingredients:
Coconut coir
perlite
pumice
rice hulls
expanded shale
biochar
oyster shell
metamorphosed evaporite
yucca extract
mycorrhizae

I like how light it feels, the ingredients list & it's moisture retention so far.

I might try it as a hydro medium but was only planning on seed starting with it at first. (I didn't see the "hydro" part of the label until a couple days after I got it home. lmao)

I've used it, it's fine. Problem with this product is it's basically just expensive extra fancy coco. I can't see a need for it.

If growing with synthetics you shouldn't need all that added stuff at all. Straight coco or pro-mix or something is totally fine.

If going organic soil, it sounds nice but you'd probly want to add a bunch of castings and humus and things anyway so might as well buy a full on organic bagged soil that's ready to go. Or better yet make your own.

For starting seeds only I'm sure it will work great and a bag would last a long time. Jiffy peat pellets are cheaper/easier imo though.

I just picked up a bag of the batch:64 Moonshine and it seems to be really well amended coco. I really loved coco when using synthetics but since switching to all organic i am not sure if will will be the best option. I plan on top dressing roots uprising after 3-4 weeks and feeding it act. I'm also running vermifire next to it so we'll see who wins but for recycling purposes I prob wouldn't run straight moonshine as I think people have problems recycling coco due to how it leaches cal/mag over time.
