Basement grow, should I use tents?

Hey guys,

I am planning a grow in an old cellar. It is as old like you can find magazines from 1980 down there. A lot of different rooms of different sizes.
The good thing is that it is absolutely dry down there but still very rotten. E.g. one dead rat(mummified) and a lot of old junk. No signs of living animals or insects.

So I am planning to use 1 big and 1 smaller room for 1 Veg Stations and several Flower.
Now I am thinking whether I should just place some tents and connect their airflow to dial in the environment or if I should refurbish the rooms completely and use them directly.

Every comment appreciated,
Fox

I want to try one 1000w and one 600w Flower Room, or mb stacked 600'ers. All in all I can go up to 6000w.
Money is an issue unfortunately. It is not set for certain but will be around 2000€ (already owning several vents and lamps) more is possible just needs more time :)

edit: btw heading for vert setups.

I will definitely go up in wattage and use that location for over a year. So I will go with a full renewal of the rooms.

Thanks for the help guys!

Well if it was me, I would build a cheapy room to start the grow in, and then as money comes in build a real room around it.

Cheapy room:
Build a frame out of 3/4" PVC or 2x3's and tape or staple plastic to it, then add a stick-on zipper for access. Much cheaper than a tent, and you can change the size of it as you need to, for also cheap.

Wow :thank you: that's a great way of building a tent! :tiphat:

Edit: Actually I can't find (and I dont remind that I've ever seen it) a Piece of PVC Pipe suitable for the corners of that framework. And as I think about it it makes no sense to use (normal use) a PVC Pipe which points into 3 dimensions... How do you engage that problem???

Tents work fine as long as yas `re able to control environment in said grow area......

DIY`s not for everyone , so come on over to the dark side with bare bulbs and 360 degree sideways canopy lumen penetration/plant absorption FTW......and...

Major airflow /extraction twice per minute with 50 watts per sq ft and you`re off to the races.....bet on it....anyways.....

Holler if I can help.....and......

Good luck.....DHF.....:ying:.....

They do sell corner pieces here and there, but its just as easy and even cheaper just to do 90's and T's as mentioned. Just use 90's at the top, and then T's right under to do the side runs. Piece of cake.

Remember, doing it in lumber is just as cheap. Lumber can be a stronger support, but PVC is much easier to take down and put up if you need to.

way to keep in simple. get a roll of panda plastic, the kind at the hydro shop thats black on one side and white on the other and you cant see 1000 watt light thru. I built my tent from 2x4's and that. also I like the duct tape that is really for tin ducting it comes with a paper backing on the roll and is super sticky. Its water, heat and time proof. I am also in and old sketchy seeming basement with no issues. keep their air moving and your fine.
