hi guys. If I'm growing in the basement of my house with the exhaust exiting into the garage, is it worth it, or will it help if I put IR lining on the roof of the basement?
Even if you shield the ceiling the heat's got to go somewhere, and probably out through vents or windows or something. I think jaw's right, the house will cover the top pretty well. I'd focus more on where the hot air goes after it exits the house.
Hey RR.......I grow in basements also but exhaust into the crawlspaces to mix with the cooler air under the house before anything exits out the foundation vents..........Exhausting into your garage is the last place you needta use as garages are the least insulated areas of any home........I build for a living so this is factual info not speculation.....I do insulate all my walls and ceilings for environmental control inside my rooms and I suggest you start there but there`s no reason for so-called IR insulation on the upper floor joists when the exhaust footprint is what you should be concerned with as far as being detected from FLIR devices.......Take care........DHF........ ..........
