Base material selected for breeding - now I gotta find an auto to pass on the gene.

Hey! Pretty much as long as I've been growing I've always been thinking about starting my own little breeding project. Nothing fancy, I just want to have a strain I can call my own - you know what I mean? Most likely it won't even become commercial or anything like that.

Anyway. The strain I've selected that I would like to make an auto is the hawaiian snow. I don't think I really need to even comment on why I've choosen the strain. Pretty awesome strain if you ask me.

Now I need some other strain to pass on the auto traits from. The thing is I don't really know If I should do a mix of the hawaiian snow and some other awesome auto strain or if I should simply try to outbreed all of the other traits but the traits from the hawaiian snow - I'm leaning towards the second choice. Either way I need to find a good alternative for a second parent. I've got a couple of f2 sour 60 seeds lying around the house, do you think I could use them, or should I try to pick a strain that is already highly sativa influenced?

Idk about breeding but if you do with autos then maybe you can clarify for me; Is it true that autos are mostly CBD and not high in THC? I read it somewhere and it deterred me from trying the grow of em out, being a hi trich kinda gal.

I think that's true for the original ruderalis strains, but I don't think it's something that is set in stone and can be bred out of the plant you're working with. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible to create sativa autos seeing that cbd content is one of the major chemicals that make sativa and an indica differ in high.

I would say stop asking anyone else what they like. Go with what you like.

What kind of high do you want ?

What kind of yield do you expect ?

What kind of time frame from seed to harvest do you want ?

Either way good luck and when ready toss a few to the server fund always looking for something worthy.

Well to be honest I guess I already know what I want - an auto flower with as much of the hawaiian snow's traits as possible. I was just wondering if it would be more troublesome starting out with an indica than it would be with a sativa plant bearer of the auto gene.

Yield is not an issue - what I'm looking for is a strong sativa that starts flowering independently of hours of sun seeing that I live in the cold climate that I live in.I want this so that it could finish before mould ruins the harvest. Sure, yield matters - but I'd rather have a plant with an awesome high that yields less, and instead plant more seeds.

Besides, the more airy buds - the less chance of mould. So somewhat airy buds might actually be a good thing in this case.

this is a useless post. i'm on my first autos (and they are well screwed up for several reasons).

one of them is kannabia's new hobbit (sativa.. "gingerale cinderella"). all i can tell you is it looks alright to me, but one factor that may or may not be important to you is that she is well scentless, even right up to your nose.
