Baltimore officer arrested after slitting throat of lost dog: ‘I’m going to f*cking gut this thing!’

A Baltimore, Maryland police officer was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty after he slit the throat of a dog that had been called in as a possible stray.
Police said that Sandy Fleischer called in a report of a stray dog in southeast Baltimore that had attempted to bite her.
Fleischer told 11 News that “the dog was more scared of not knowing where it was and being thirsty and disoriented. The dog bit me out of fear because I tried to touch it, which was my fault.”

She was initially relieved when police arrived, but she noticed that the police were aggressively using dog poles to contain the dog.
“You could hear the dog screaming and crying in pain,” she said. “I did see one officer that had been extremely aggressive that did have his knee into her chest that was tightening the noose. It seemed [like they were doing it] relentlessly and unnecessarily.”
After the dog, named “Nala,” was secured with a dog pole, Officer Jeffrey Bolger approached the dog and slit its throat. According to the charging documents, before cutting Nala’s throat, Bolger yelled, “I am going to fucking gut this thing!”
“One of our officers used a knife and cut the dog’s throat. This is outrageous and an unacceptable breach of our protocol,” Baltimore Police Deputy Commissioner Dean Palmere said.
His colleague, Deputy Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez, agreed, saying “we have no words to describe this. To say that we are appalled at the allegations, I think, is an understatement.”
Nala’s owner, Sarah Gossard, said that her dog “had a collar around its neck with tags, with my phone number. She was just the sweetest dog and would never hurt anyone. She was just scared that day, and through all of those events — being scared and lost, thirsty, hungry — yes I’m very sure that she bit someone, but the actions after that were not OK.”
She told 11 News that her “anger is toward this police officer. I don’t want him to have his job. I don’t want him to be able to go out on calls and react like that to a person, to a dog, to anything.”
Deputy Commissioner Palmere said that Bolger had been with the department since 1992, and after being arrested, was released on his own recognizance.

I hate Law Enforcement .... If an officer touched my dog... I would unleash the wrath of hell on them

I'd gut that fucking pig!!!! I hate Balt pigs anyway. In their eyes, EVERYBODY is a criminal. The worst criminals I've seen in Balt are the COPS! Anyone who harms/kills an animal should have the same things done to them! Somebody should drop a bomb on every police station Balt has!!!!

Unfortunately this is an all to common occurrence.

I think supporting this documentary would help spread the word. I cant watch it ,it just gets my blood boiling.

I read about it everyday. Nothing ever happens to the cop's. This one is getting his pension and retiring most likely. They withheld the evidence for a little while I'm sure it was to get the ball rolling regarding his retirement.

Also don't think it cannot happen to people including innocent ones and for no reason. Here are my two favorite places to go for police abuse report's.

The Link Between Animal Abuse and Serial Killers
Ted Bundy, David Berkowitz and Jeffrey Dahmer have more in common than just being serial killers. These three murderers are also connected by the fact that each of them tortured and/or killed animals during their childhoods. "Researchers as well as FBI and other law enforcement agencies nationwide have linked animal cruelty to domestic violence, child abuse, serial killings and to the recent rash of killings by school age children", says Dr. Randall Lockwood (vice president of training and initiatives for the Humane Society of the United States.
Some children are cruel to and torture animals to impress their peers, but future serial killers usually torture animals purely for their own enjoyment. Animal abuse is a recognized sign of a mental disorder. If a child hurts animals it should be a red flag and immediate action should be taken. While there are many factors that contribute to someone becoming a serial killer, the one constant they share is animal abuse.

Avoid the pig's at all cost's.

The police profession truly attracts some very fucked up humans. It's obvious that the psychological pre-screening they do to weed out these crazy fucks isn't working. I feel like killing that cop, what a piece of shit. I hope karma bites his ass.

I don't even mind so much when people kill other people... but when they kill an innocent animal like that, ruthlessly... I see a shade of red that I never knew was possible, and anger clouds my thoughts. I hope this complete waste of stem cells is gutted from crotch to throat, and that he dies a slow painful death.

I remember two other things not mentioned there, the Commissioner acknowledged that officer Bolger's knife was NOT issued by the department.

and secondly, this is one of those rare times when a cop's suspended WITHOUT pay and being arrested instead.

usually it's the administrative leave with pay.......

One important thing not mentioned in the article is the fact that the murdered dog was a Chinese Shar Pei.

Baltimore is a Pit Bull city and the Shar Pei can look like a giant Pitty on steroids - they can be very UGLY looking dogs.

I'm sure that idiot had never seen a Shar Pei and was playing the role of 'hero cop' slaying the mutant pit bull 'thing' (monster) as he called it.

That poor dog was murdered because he was fugly and fell into the category of the unknown (alien).

Cop's been watching too many movies.:tiphat:

I don't mean to digress, but It's also a fact that police agencies hire people based on intelligence...And; NO, they don't hire the brightest! Perfect example was the case of Robert Jordan, who tried to sue an agency that disqualified his application for a very high test score. They only hire people smart enough to do the job, and dumb enough not to question it. Remember that when the next time you cross paths with a cop and wonder how someone so stupid could get hired by their department. You now know that their stupidity might be the very thing that qualified them for the job.
