Hey Y'all.....well, I've got my tickets and I'm planning a l'il trip with my b/f in the New Year. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the non-touristy areas. We'll be mainly in the out-islands, going to Marsh Harbour, Hope Town, etc. Any info would be much appreciated

you are in for an amazing time, rent a boat for the time your staying there if possible so you can hop from island to island, and also go snorkeling, there are so many amazing reefs. also if you want to go to a nice dinner one night i highly reccomend ' the abaco inn ' ask around its a big establishment. I havent been there in years, and between the last time i was there and now there has been a huge hurricane which destroyed many buisnesses.. i hope its still as beautiful as i remember your in for an amazing time.

also try the conch chowder everywhere you go its amazing with the soft bread they give you.

i went to a pizza hut in the abacos and they had conch pizza!

lol Thanks...that's what we're doing...my dad owns a boat and winters going from island to island....not my first time doing this but last time I didn't try to find anything, since I'm going with my b/f this time I thought it would be nice to see what the "scene" is like...

wow im jealous! i love the bahamas, especially Marsh Harbor and Hope Town. my aunt had a house in Marsh Harbor and i loved going there, such a great island with very nice down to earth people. not sure if you are looking for bud, but if you are, my only suggestion is to make friends with some day laborers working near the marina. there was a painter working on my aunts house that would've hooked us up if we hadn't already brought ours. bartenders might also be able to help ya out. not sure on quality, never saw it. Nippers is also a cool island to check out. I also recommend Treasure Cay, its on the same island as Marsh Harbor just on a different side. Have fun on the trip, i know it will be a blast! especially on a boat, it will be amazing!

lol Nippers is my Dads favourite bar and he spends half the winter there, I swear. I've got a ahlf dozen t shirts from there causa him lol...Since we're staying on his boat, I'll try discreetly asking around the marina while were there. Also been to Treasure Cay... is nice....Happy Holidays
