Bag seed/ Grape Sorbet my very first grow

i was going to include all update photos i have of them from seed til now butttttt that’s okay. i feel like most of these posts aren’t super thorough in explaining their care throughout their first grow- but! as a little bit of background, these plants that i’m growing are bag seeds from a known strain bought from a dispensary. i’ve done a lot of research and still struggle to find very much about bag seeds, and even the strain grape sorbet in general. (other than the previous buds info package and the lineage by googling it which unfortunately doesn’t help me much) and after wanting to just experiment and see if i was able to even grow the seedings, they took a while to actually start showing any growth. and i do want to mention this started as a budget grow. i didn’t wanna go out and spend hella money on unnecessary pots and lights… but that was due to my lack of knowledge completely. it’s taken me a long time to read a bunch of forums and god the amount of youtube videos i’ve seen… things got rough for a minute(due to needing to save up and upgrade; lack of space etc etc) and i did make a few mistakes along the way but i am upgrading! i bought a 4x4 tent and i have a marshydro FC-E4800 on the way! half off on ebay bby😁

i’m now one week away from flipping my plants to bloom (they’ve been in veg since 02/14 although they are a bit small i don’t really know how long they will need to bloom for if they veg’d for this long, might need to be in bloom twice as long who knows💓)

here are a few of the mistakes ive made made so far and the steps i took, maybe it can help you or you can at least get a laugh!😭

so, for starters. i germinated these seeds in a paper towel and tossed in my cup cupboard. after about 6 days they were soooooooooo grown into the paper towel that i practically had to plant a piece of it with every seedling cause i didn’t wanna damage roots. the pots i put them in… were the worst to say the least. i started with coco choir, perlite, worm castings… but i had no nutes other than some kelp meal that i occasionally sprinkled on top before watering.. the pots i put them in at first dried out way too fast, and not to mention the light i first had these under was nottttt helping 💔 so they were pretty stunted for a while until i finally scraped up some bigger containers around the house, drilled holes, and repotted them. i STUPIDLY repotted two plants together in the same pot TWICE intending to be able to separate them as soon as i got proper sized pots… and they quite literally entangled into each other SO FAST and when i DID separate them i lost the two that lost the most roots…(tried to shimmy them apart but one both times ended up with wayyyy more root than the other and they were just so much smaller) so when i made the decision to just quit trying with those two, that’s about the time i got the gh nute line and immediately fed the 6 that we’re doing fantastic(1/4 of what the bottles said to) and i almost completely stopped seeing yellow/ drying leaves at the very bottom and small/shriveled up new growth became huge lucious leaves. they did, however take about 3-4 weeks of slow slow slowww growth and then suddenly just took off! 8 plants had me absolutely stressed out at the time only having a 2x2 grow space although it would’ve been nice to still have them with this much space💓… even 6 started to stress me out but they reached a point where they’re all confirmed females (as far as i can tell in every way- i see no balls 🙅🏼‍♀️ but i do see pistols every node; is that preflower?) idk but my 2x2 is… x4(height)? maybe?.. and some of these plants were already reaching the light (almost) and the light could not get any higher so i had to buy a bigger space.. and a better light has beeeeeeen needed they are all just so expensive and over marketed i wanted something high quality but for a better price so i had to wait to save up and ended up just spoiling them. it is crazy that these plants have been able to grow this much and have come this far even with this super shitty light and how crammed they were in the 2x2🤣 they really live up to the name🌲

i have no clue if i should actually flip them to bloom or not or if i should veg them for longer 🤷🏼‍♀️ i plan on bringing consistent updates so please give me your best tips and tricks!

i also have a couple of questions!

would these plants go into shock if i’m changing their color spectrum? (prev. light is blurple, new ones white/yellow)

how many “waterings” do you go in between actually feeding them? i have them in their old mix of coco, castings, perlite (old pots set up, i would water every 3-4 days and would only feed every 2-3 times) but when i potted them in the buckets, the new soil was a mix of fox farms ocean soil and fox farms strawberry fields. i just lifted the plant straight out of the old pot and sprinkled some castings before just plopping it in the new pot/ new soil without disturbing it and gave it a plain (6.5 ph) thorough watering. i don’t wanna over nute and i know both soils i just introduced have a lotttttt more nutrients then coco… so my question what would you do? i’m so new this is all so scary but i did love the way this strain smoked when i found the seed so i’d love for this to work out the best way possible.

do you add anything extra nutrient wise during bloom and if so what’s your go to and how does it benefit your grow?

i appreciate you taking the time to look all of this over its been such a blast watching these grow truly!

You are doing a good job friend and those plants look strong. After 4 months of veg, you can flip and get some nice flowers. As for switching the LEDs, I would add the new light dimmed with the old light. Run them together for a while until the plants get used to the new light. IF you have space using both lights as a combo will grow big thick flowers.
