Baffleds PTK grow log

Drum Roll please Maestro........................ Welcome everyone to my first ever full length grow log. Fingers x'd seed to harvest :canabis:

Well after much thought and just a few sleepless nights (i kid you not) i've finally decided what to grow out next from my ever increasing bean stash: Tom Hill's "Pine Tar Kush"

At first I was gonna grow out two different strains at once, but decided to stick with just the one so that I can really work and concentrate on getting hopefully the best from the strain. Plus if I open a pack I have to germ all the beans, because if I dont i'll have a gnawing feeling that the keeper was in with the beans I put back in the pack lol. So I like to do the lot and eliminate the doubt from the outset.

Well here are the ten hopefulls lined and ready in my "Braindead" video box. I have to comment that it is a seriously quality film. I've got a thing for cheesy crap horror flicks, the crapper the better if you get what I mean. Anyway back on track, ever since I started growing I have used the paper towel germination method with much success, so I've never tried an alternate method. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!"

I line them up in rank and file, give them a good misting with a spray bottle and plain old tap water, then put another double layer over and mist that to. I double it up so that the loo roll doesn't disintegrate when I try and check up on my babies. Now they're sat on top of my pc to get some warmth under them to help quicken things up a little.

Thats all for now, everyone's more than welcome to jump on board and enjoy the ride, add comments, ask questions and give some insight.

Last but by no means least, Thanks Texas Kid for your inspiring thread, made the decision a little, justa little easier. Truly awesome pics of your PTK.

Cheers, and keep safe

Good luck... those are some great genes... maybe CBF will chime in with his experiences.

Grabbin' a seat...

Well im pleased to announce a 100% germ rate on these beans after just over 36 hours, I think. 10 out of 10, although four were a little hesitant so I helped them along by popping their seam a little with my finger nail, being very careful to apply just the right amount of pressure so not to damage the good stuff inside. I like my beans the same way I like my gf's, to get undressed and work their magic as soon as possible lol.
I'll plant them up tomorrow cos I want the taproot's to grow a little longer yet, and then I can really get this show on the road.

Stay safe and spread the love!

Put all ten beans into their respective pots, and seven have decided to peek through the soil.

The pots are a bit bigger than I usually start seedlings off in, but I wanted to see if I could eliminate one early transplanting phase, without having any real effect on the growth of the plants. I shall see. The soil is also different this grow, not seen it before, but it was only £10 for 300 litres, bargain!!! It has a little added sand for drainage as well as about a quarter perlite and my critical hash plants dont seem to mind it at all, so I'll give these young nippers a go in it too.
They will go under a 400w HPS tomorrow hopefully they all will have shown themselves from the soil by then and will be fed nothing but plain tap water for the first few weeks of their life.
Peace, Baffled

Sorry about the lack of updates, but a couple of days ago I was on m way to work and was rather suddenly hurled from my motorbike. Long story short, much to everyone who witnessed the accidents surprise i walked away completely unscathed and got some very strange looks indeed, which then freaked me as I realised by rights I probably shouldn't have got up again.

Anyway enough of the drama, im home now and will update with pics tomorrow.

Stay tuned, stay safe and spread tha love!

Updated pics as promised,

A selection of the 10 PTK's I have on the go, at about 12 days after they first peeked through the soil.

You can definately tell already its pure indica, the leafs are soooooooooo huge

They've been under a 400w HPS thats on 24/7 and fed nothing but plain tap water so far. They'll need re-potting in the next few days or so and oncethey've had a few days to settle into their new pots i'll try them on some weak nutes to see how they go!

Looks Good Baffled!

Have not tried Pine Tar Kush, but it sure sounds good! Those look like some nice healthy plants you got there, keep up the good work!

Sorry to hear about the motorbike incident. I too know what that feels like... :bat: Been there done that, and the crazy thing is, I never learned, just kept on riding! Maybe a little more cautious, but nevertheless, nothing compares with the feeling of riding a motorbike!

Quick update......

Quick update......

Veg Day 17: So today I repotted the 6 most vigorous plants, would have done all of them but only had 6 spare pots, hopefully get hold of some more tomorrow, and do the others.

I spend so much time with my hands in soil, my fingers have turned into a rootball :biglaugh: :biglaugh: jokes. Here's a quick pic of some healthy roots

Probably could have done with a transplant on day 12, but hey no worries.
Up until now i've fed the plants with nothing but tap water, in the next pic you'll notice some of the lower leaves yellowing a little. I think this is an indication that the plants needed bigger pots a little sooner and shows that they may be a little hungry.

So once i'd repotted, I fed them all the following: Bio-Bizz Grow at a ratio of 20ml to 10 litres of plain tap water, I also added 35ml of Bio-Bizz Root Juice to this, gave it a quick stir and fed to the plants. While I was feeding them I turned off the light for about half an hour, and gave them a foliar feed and protection coating with some Bio-Bizz leaf coat. The last time I used this it smelt quite pleaant when I was misting the plants, but they must have changed the recipe because it absolutely reaks now. Grumble grumble.

Theres not much difference between these shots and those at day 12, but i'll show some pics of them in their new pots, so that in about a weeks time you can see the difference in size. Hopefully lol

Before I forget, Thanks for dropping by GrowingGoo and Slater, and for the kind words. Must add, quality grow Goo, don't no anything about the strain "Goo", but anything called that has got to be good, Right?

23 days since first sprouting i think

23 days since first sprouting i think

Well its been just under a week, but I had to do an update cos my new toy arrived this weekend :D A brand spanking new Nikon coolpix 8800 :woohoo:

Here's a quick group shot, they've all been re-potted into the same size pots, the four late developers and late transplant plants are at the back

Next three random plants:

And while I was pampering them this morning, I noticed that the side branching has really exploded. So I decided to take two cuttings off of each of the five most vigorous plants using the plain water cloning technique.

I numbered the plastic cups so that they matched the respective donor, so that later on I'll know exactly what cuttings came from what plant
I'll take 2 from each of the remaining five when they've caught up a little. I have never cloned before so fingers x'd and wish me luck.
I placed the cups in the same room but about 7 ft away from the HPS, cos I heard they dont need much light to root.

Well thats about it for now, enjoy!
If anyone has any questions, don't be shy
Peace

Well i did plan to do a log from start to harvest, but due to bad timing and lack of space, and a whole load of other stuff thats going on in my life my babies have all gone to new loving homes and that will be the end of this thread. Disappointing as I really wanted to grow out this strain, but on the upside I have another pack lurking somewhwere and will try again in the near future, plus a few lucky so and so's get to try their first grow with some very fine genetics

Thanks to all those that dropped by and said kinds words. Is appreciated

Peace
