Hey everyone, glad to finally be apart of the community.

Growing legally for medicinal purposes and for fun more than anything!

Im growing just 6 lil guys under a 630CMH, the grow has been going awesome until a massive power outage in my neighbourhood 3 days ago... they're on a 18/6 from midnight-6pm light on. power went out at noon(6hours early) i carried them upstairs and put them close to a window but it was super dark and stormy.... anyways... the power didn't coming back on till 8am the next morning, i put them back in the tent on the same schedule then. This morning my plants have gotten bushier, and developed sexes. best plant is a male :(

Im curious as to what i should do next... I've kept them on 18/6 in hopes of them going back to vege... but knowing that half my plants are males now... do i just chop them up?

I got these seeds for free from a friend to practice while i was waiting on my dispensary seeds... Still a very sad day for me :(

any tips or opinions would be awesome.
Cheers!:peacock:

Keep them on 18/6 light cycle....maybe add epsom salt/water to perk them up....great plant tonic as it's Magnesium Sulfate.
1 TBS to 1 gallon of water or ~15 ml to ~3.7 l water.

So this was just one day with 12 hours of darkness? It's not a problem. Keep calm, and grow on!

There is no real rush to kill the males until you are very sure what you have got. At this stage it will be a long time before the males pollinate the crop. When you are sure, chop the males as they are not any good unless you are breeding. There are lots of pictures on the internet of both male plants and female plants that can help you decide. Have fun with the hobby and good luck.

20 straight hours of darkness will not affect a plants timeline on showing preflowers,it would have no affect at all.Your plants started to become sexually mature before your black out and I'm sure if you would have checked them with a good magnifying glass before the blackout you would have spotted the preflowers.Preflowers will show under an 18/6 photoperiod when the plants become sexually mature, different strains/pheno's will become sexually mature at different times.Your 20 hour blackout affected nothing at all and will be neither good nor detrimental in your grow.Another good way to spot sexual maturity and start looking for preflowers to sex your plants is the side branching of the plants. When they are young the side branches will be even coming out evenly of the main stalk on either side,it'll be like one straight line. When the plant grows larger and becomes sexually mature, the side branches will be staggered on either side of the main stalk. That's when you get a good magnifying glass and look for preflowers

chroni,

Give your wallet some relief, ... Change your light schedule to 6pm ON - 12 noon OFF. You want to use electricity when it's the cheapest. Also it's far easier and cheaper to keep your temperature in check after the sun is down.

Most electric companies peek rates are from 10 am - 6pm.

Nature throws a lot worse problems than your little power outage. Resume your regular schedule and don't sweat it.

had a crop almost done 1 time.
then had a 7 day power outage.
i thought for sure would mold.
but power came back and plants were fine.
so i think you are good to go.
