G

Guest

I wanted to know has anyone backpacked throughout Europe by themselves and if they have how did they go about meeting people to hang out with, preferably women?.

Also, want places should I go see and also have fun at being a young man?. Thank You. Peace.

traveling in europe by yourself is ok . imo its better to bring a friend ... i personally like to roll through europe with my younger brutha.. man does it make for some good stories.. plus if its just you. you might get a bit homesick. plus saftey in numbers.where to go well depends where you wanna see. i like italy germany spain amsterdam and england (although its expensive as all hell)dam pound stronger than the euro .lol so many places grab a rail pass and see the countryside..

Go by yourself, no one to disagree with. Stay in Hostels and get a Euro-rail pass good for 10stops. Don't worry about meeting people they will come along. You can also have different boxes of clothes mailed to you without having to carry them all the time. Just set it up with Mom or someone in advance. Pick a starting point and a finishing point. And have fun in between.

Good luck V

Thanks for the replies!.

Can anyone let me know if mailing weed to myself and then traveling from country to country using the euro railway be a good way to avoid getting caught with the herb?. Keep in mind the herb will be well hidden.

Also can anyone recommend any good cannabis spots(stores and/or clubs) in Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Italy, England and Switzerland to hang out at. Peace.

I take it we don't mean Backpacking, but traveling. Right?

If you go alone, then who's ghost will be around to talk to you when you are going mad from the lycanthropy?

I think I found someone who can go with me BUT I'm not sure if they can take that long off so I just wanted other people's opinion about going alone. And yes I'm reffering to traveling and not backpacking. Peace.

Don't mail your weed! There is plenty there. Be very careful carrying anything on the trains. keep you pockets clean. If you travel through Germany you may get profiled and searched. You are a forgien national in the EU. If you get caught good chances are you will be kicked out after a nice fine.

Holland is a gimme for places to hang.
Switzerland..near old town there are a couple of places to buy goods and to party. Plus there is a nice hostel there.

Thanks I guess I won't mail nothing but while where on the subject do you think cannabis candy would be suspicious if it were carried with other candy?.

I want to start in Spain and end in Germany.

good plan. spent at least 3 days in barcelona, you wont reget it. be sure to hit park guell (HUGE park overlooking teh city) with a phat joint :joint:

in my many travels throughout europe I have met many a man and woman backpacking alone. only attempt this if you are VERY personable and are good at making friends quickly.

I once met a kid on a train from paris to barcelona who was backpacking alone. He looked amazingly american and stood out like a sore thumb on the platform, so I made idle conversation waiting for the train. he ended up partying with me and my friends (who were living in BCN) for three days. He went from lost tourist to hooked-up local in two minutes by being able ot hold an intelligent conversation and being cool. If that sounds like you, then go for it, you will have the time of your life

Thanks for the info!.

I just watch nightline and they talked about a website called http://www1.couchsurfing.com/ which helps people meet others so they can stay at their houses while traveling to different places so they can save money. It's weird how the subject was dealt with today and I just made a decision to travel Europe today. Good Vibes today.

There are 200,000 members in 210 countries on the site. I don't mind doing some crazy stuff like sleeping overnight at someone's house for a few days because they can show me the TRUE culture of the city as well maybe become a good friend.

Thanks everyone for your post. Peace.

Leave your friends behind, they will only cause trouble. I spent 3 months backpacking around Europe alone a number of years ago. I did Eurail, stayed mostly in hostels, had an amazing time. I always met people to travel/party with, whether it was for an evening or a few days. When I tired of them, I moved on. Most of the couples/groups I met that were travelling together ran into conflicts and hassles after a few weeks. Travelling can put a lot of strain on a friendship... people react differently to being in unfamiliar places

Staying in hostels is great. It's easier to meet people than a regular hotel and a lot of them have formal or informal group activites (like pub crawls!) for things you might be less willing to do on your own. There's a pretty big gap between good ones and bad ones though, so it's good to do a little research first. I used Lonely Planet, they never steered me wrong and I found a couple of real gems I would never have found otherwise. I also came accross the couch surfing website, although I havent had a chance to try it out yet. I did a lot of home stays in Eastern Europe where some places didn't have hostels yet and it made for a very authentic experience.

Happy travels.

There are these interrail tickets with which you can go as far south as morroco and to eastern europe (I dont know what you could whant there  )
it depends on how many zones you buy.
There might be some bad areas but they arent comparable to bad areas in america.

Cannabis liberal countries are: holland, switzerland and spain,
france is very strict if they really act according to the laws (I heard differnt things about that)
in germany you will get away with a small amount of weed.
I dont know if they will tell it to authorities in your country if you get caught.
The best is not smoking on the street not even in holland it is illegal there

18 and Doh!
If your in switzerland go to bienne. Besides holland, bienne is the only other place with coffeeshops (that i know of). Btw you can normally buy weed in hiphop shops, beer shops and head shops.
peace
