SAN FRANCISCO -- Marijuana may not be fully legal in California, but the state's Democratic Party has made its position clear.
In a resolution released on Sunday, the California Democratic Party requested that President Barack Obama end the federal crackdown against states with marijuana laws on the books:

The California Democratic Party requests: President Obama to allow the newly enacted marijuana legalization laws in Colorado and Washington to go into effect with no federal interference, and end the Department of Justice interference and raids by federal agencies in states with medical marijuana laws.

^Yup, not surprised. There is now more profit to be made off taxing weed than there is busting in in cali, and the federal government ordered cali to empty their prisons of a certain percentage because their prisons are at 180 percent capacity.

Of course, a few million jobs that will hire someone with a conviction/pot conviction would help also. If we're to address medical marijuana as a public health issue, there's little role for police lobbyists outside of advising on security protocols. It's long past time for police lobbyists in California to get out of patients' exam rooms and it's even more important for elected officials in the state to stand up to pressure from these groups and once and for all carry out the wishes of California voters.
