baat guano

Is all guano basically the same? I have the choice whether to order Indonesian guano, Jamaican guano, or Mexican guano. I think Peruvian guano may be a choice too. Is all guano pretty much the same, or is bat guano from one of those sources better for growing weed?

Peruvian - 12-11-2
Indonesian - 0.5-12-0.2
Mexican - 12-1-1
Jamaican 0-10-0

Assuming you're refering to Sunleaves line up, though I doubt there are many differences in brand. As for better, one country or another may have a more sustainable approach to harvesting. Otherwise it's just a difference in nutrient profiles.

Cheers

Yup. Sunleaves. Cool NPK comparson. Thanks. I might go Guanokalong, but shipping from NL or Europe would be a bitch.

You also answered my different source question too. I must agree mostly, but I also realize bats from different locales have different foods they eat, so was just curious.

Specifically, I'm looking to beef up my feeding especially looking for better flowering. In veg, the plants have been healthy and green and they love being fed blackstrap mollases with some EWC mixed in it too. But my plants consistently look weak in flowering. Especially after stretch. They bud out fine but I'm looking to augment my mix with an eye toward better flowers. I'm thinking guano will do the trick. I go 100% organic btw. No flush and I also like to know exactly what I'm ingesting.

I'm thinking going Peruvian. Thanks again dude.

I decided to go Indonesian because of the high phosphorus and I'm looking for more of a flower boost. But unlike what I looked at previously, when the bag came it has a 0-7-0 profile. I imagine it'll still be good though.

But it doesn't say "organic" on it. Damn. And the analysis blurb on the back says 7% phosphorus DERIVED from bat guano. I assumed I was just ordering bat guano, like the bag says on it. Is it?

I mean damn, I have some chemical phosphorus, but wanted "organic" shit, I guess I could have just saved the $14 and all the time and effort.

There's always Age Old Organics....

Edit: it's fossilized seabird guano though... they claim it's an envoronmentally safe alternative to bat guano.

I use both bat and seabird guanos in teas and top dressings.

i'd drop that indo and hit them with Jamaican in flower....actually that's what I use, you wont find any weak flowering especially if you're using blackstrap with it. sunleaves is good stuff

I feed 'em blackstrap (equivalent measure to 2 TBS/gal.) and a few pinches of EWC mixed in the RO every watering all the way through. The goils really dig it.

My idea was to start mixing in a pinch or two of bat guano after they start flower too. Still gonna try it. But I can't say my weed is 100% organic after that though. I thought about mixing in some in the too in the soil too, but that shit be HOT. Feeding at watering with it s/b enough. Maybe feed even every other watering.

BTW I've found watering best every other, OTHER day. So on the 3rd day. I also do the finger up to the first knuckle in the soil, moisture test first, to see if they really need water. Sometimes they don't.

ddd,
Why wouldn't it be 100% organic? -granger

According to the FDA, the word "organic" has a specific meaning and if used on packaging must be that. That guano does not.

That would be the only ingredient that does not, other than some dolomite lime I throw in. As I think about it, neither does the bone meal I use. So I guess my mix never really was absolutely 100% organic.

On the other hand, you can interpret it any way you want. I just don't use chemical fertilizers and started with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil as the base about 9 years ago, and have amended a lot since.

That sphagnum moss I added, nor the coco choir were really "organic" either probably. So I guess I just like to say it is 100% organic, but it's probably not really. Still don't have to flush salt build-up on the roots or in my weed.

ddd,
Just because the mfgr didn't apply for OMRI or whatever doesn't mean it's not organic. From what you've said, I think you can look people straight in the eye and say your produce is organic. Good luck. -granger
