Hi all! Just thought I'd post some pics of last years grow, along with some info about the strains.

They were all grown in organic, home-made compost under 2x600w HPS. They had some hard times with a baby-sitter who just wouldn't do as I asked, and they suffered from that for sure. They had a two week lightleak after about 4 weeks flowering - not good. For some reason he decided to dissassemble my foolproof light-sluse! ("It was difficult to get through", he said...) Of course it was! Oh well, my fault for not educating him properly :(. Also he only gave them half the amount of water I had asked, and they had some really dry times. Again, my own fault. In addition, we had the hottest summer in decades, and temps in the room reached 40C at times.

Still, most of them made it through and made good smoke for sure :).

peace & love,
lynx

Kush #7

To follow up on the first pic, it's the result of a highly respected friends work. I'm not sure if he's on this board, but his description of the strain is Bubba Kush (sativa pheno) x Bubba Kush Bx1s Green Clone (male). The story is much more elaborate, but I'll return to that later, perhaps.

#1, purple pheno.

Ok, info is now correct. Here's #4, green pheno. Very potent, but less... soothing to the nerves?

Molokai Frost x Strawberry Web

Hi ptg, thanks for kind words :). The Kushes were pretty tough, thankfully - I think I lost four Ethiopians. Got some nanners in Kushes, but they didn't produce any seeds. I certainly pollinated them all, but for the first time ever I had a (almost) failed pollination.

Here's the same MFxSW, closer shot.

More Hawaiians... This strain was all over the place in phenos as far as size and bud shape was concerned. Quality of high was much more uniform and very good :). Those interested in the Molokai can read about it here http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=73286

Lovely hawaian sativa, how is the taste?Fresh?

It's weird your pollination failed, any thought why it occured?Do you think it's due to under-watering and hot temp?

Hm, can't remember... I quit tobacco, so smoking them pure is a bit rough on the throat and always ends in a cough. But smell is more sour than sweet. It's been a few weeks since last I smoked them, they should be better cured when I get home in a few days. I'll return with better answer :).

I don't know :dunno:. I think maybe the pollen was a little old - even if I've used just as old pollen before with good result. Very strange. Still, I got some very few seeds, let's hope they are viable...

Update on the last post... My homePC crashed, so no posts from there, sorry. About the Molokai: can't really describe the taste. Not fresh, and not really tasting very much. Not my strong side, really. But the high is excellent :).

About the B.K. seeds: I had some more pollinated buds, and fortunately there are some seeds there :). So it is not lost at all. It'll be interesting to grow F2, I already have a few going...

Ok, some more from last year, a Nepalese sativa landrace Pahari Farmhouse by RSC from last years first grow. I liked this strain a lot, nice dense buds for a sativa. Nice potency, calm and positive.

I grew her 12/12 from seed, which keeps them fairly short, but I think the best way is to give them some veg time and maybe top them if space is limited...

Hiya Lynx!

She looks great!

I'm glad you appreciated her!...i found the effect to be the same as you describe, maybe calling it introspective high:ying:

Did she smell carott-mango with a very soft smoke?

Hi panta! As far as I remember it was fruity and mangoish, and yes, quite pleasant and soft smoke :). I have a couple of seedlings going with a Pahari father and North Indian mom, I'm very excited to see how that turns out. The NIxEH cross was excellent: - I think NIxPahari will be a massive producer...
