So recently i suddenly got into some 4-h type deal and began to raise some gamefowl on my property i got some phaoraoh quail in the incubator right now.
Any one else into raising birds weather for show or eating, personally im going to eat em.

That sounds pretty cool, I like hunting/eating quail. how do you keep them from flying away to greener pastures?

btw, you should get some pheasant. Much bigger and more delicious imho

Yeah, im going to raise pheasant when i get more experience.
as for the quail after their done brooding there going into a 10x20 cage thats 5 feet high and 1 foot of the ground im also gonna hang some alfalfa bricks from wire to help prevent pecking. But yeah all this is going to help me out in the long run Nokuy's threads about self reliance really got to me.

I only have enough patience to raise one bird at a time, as she's quite a handful...

Normally, she's much puffier, but the camera scares her shitless, so she has this 'deer in headlights' vibe going on in the photo.

Hardly. I think she might contain enough meat for a birdie nugget...

I do threaten her with the prospect when she acts up, however...

u should become a parrot meat distributer. it would take like 5 of them for one good sized meal but since they are so rare you could sell them for mad money. for some reason people like to eat animals that rare. maybe its the mentality of "hey they are gunna die out anyway might as well experience them before they are gone" in this case experiencing the animal involves coating it with garlic butter before giving it a nice saute and then serving with fresh veggies and a little white wine.
