Autopots: Roots Excelurator Gold or Silver?

Is it better to use the gold or silver version of House & Garden's Roots Excelurator with an autopot system? They're the same product except Gold has molasses to feed the beneficial bacteria.

I'm assuming Silver would be ideal for autopots but has anyone had issues with using Gold?
