If someone were able to write a computer program to control grow room equipment to monitor temp/ph/tds/ppm/water levels to control nutrient levels precisely to your plants needs at any given moment, and as well hook it up to your lights, fans and such you could just sit back and watch your plants grow.

Anyone wanna take my million dollar idea and do something with it?

there needs to be a simpler device that doesnt need a pc..
a simple pic program would do it..

and cheaper.. they have like 20 bucks in parts well a bit more but not much..

Growtronix is cheaper then using green air or cap controllers.

You have to be able to trust your controllers, and with Growtronix when a problem arises I get an email and a telephone call from my room. I can also go on vacation and not worry, I can controll almost my entire room from anywhere in the world. When you start getting that advanced in controll software you will have to shell out a LOT of clams, You can set up a complete system with all the bells and whistles for less then 1000 bucks.

My computer plays a songbird wav file when the girls wake up in the morning! Show me another controller that can do all that!

I hadn't considered buying one, but I do program so I have thought of writing my own. I figured I'd get a little passively cooled job like one of these to control the environment and have a little web interface you could access from anywhere by IP or using dyndns or however you want. That would be sweet, hopefully I'll get out of this apartment soon where it's realistic for me to actually try it.

I would like to read some test reports on Growtronix.. Is putting the airplane on autopilot a good idea and for how long a flight (between showing up at your grow). Does Growtronix have a camera capability to see a picture or live video?

I've seen automation systems at work in a production environment. Bad ass stuff - seriously freaky shit can be done with plc's and software to run them. I'd love to have a g-trnx system.

Fred - your system sounds like a pretty cool setup. Tell us more. Are you concerned with security?

wow, even at 639 usd the most expensive one isn't even that expensive if you consider it as part of a 2kw+ grow. it seems it would pay for itself very very quick, especially if you wanted to set up at a remote loacation. So can you just hook up the ph/tds/ec meters directly to it? or how does that work. I can't afford one anytime soon and i love spending time with my girls anyway but if i ever did a larger scale grow it seems like it would be quite a useful tool.

Just imagine grow tronix with time lapse photography streamed onto your private growtronix account that you can check at any time. If you could do that for up to 5KW grows that would be ideal.

Just wondering if anyone uses www.X10.com products...
Not nearly as fancy as growtronix, and as far as I know, there aren't any TDS or PH probes.
But after installing a few remote control outlets and motion sensors, with cams it does get pretty cool!
I also recently purchased the PC software (for 50. with plug ins free) and a touch tone controller for 5.00... Now I can call home and turn on/off lights or fans or view cams via the web! even tho the cams are wireless, I wouldnt ever point the cams at my plants, since someone may pick up the feed!

you might want to check these out for a low cost automated system, dont think available software is up to growtronix standard but it's java based so wouldn't take much to get functionality

I'm definitely going to automate with Growtronix within the next two or three months. Funny thing about the pricing, though...I've looked at the GT website pretty frequently of late and have noticed that they are continually running their 25% off "sale," which always ends "today." I think they're trying to get people to act quickly based on a sense of urgency that the "sale" is going to end in a few hours.

So, the Hydro-Tronix package, the one I want, actually costs about $479, not $639. Whatever their marketing tactics, I'm sold! Now I just need to buy.
