Autoflowers in hydro

After the current grow is finished I was planning on running an AF grow for seed (potentially to do some outdoor over the summer). Most of the AF grows listed here are in soil.

Is there a reason people aren't running AFs in hydro (specifically a flood & drain table)?

I've been using the Lucas formula, so when would I start with veg nutes and when would I switch to flower nutes?

was wondering the same thing!not much info out there i run 1dwc and a homeade bubble set up with floranova.i got some auto seeds and started.i am one week in and they look great!!!!!!!!!sour 60 is a rocket in the dwc also have polarlight and they are slower.and my first feeding i gave them 1/4 nutes doin that next feeding also then in stayin at half strength rest of the way.roots look great on the sour 60. i should be documenting grow but i am to busy.sorry for no real info but give it go yo!!!!!!!!!!

I have a dude running Auto White Russian in 2 gallon buckets DWC style. Today he informed me they are 4 weeks old, 5 nodes in, and almost a foot tall, under 400w HPS. I think hes using GH 3-part, but not absolutely sure on that.

I always wondered the same thing...it seems that they DWC and other forms of hydroponics would be amazing for auto flowers since they have such a short veg period...more growth in the same amount of time equals a larger harvest...seems good to me..

Just have 2 questions??

1.) Is it better to start them in root riot cubes or rockwool??

2.) how old do they have to be before being transported to a dwc bucket after germination?

Root Riot without a question!! I put mine in net pots and fill with hydroton drop beans in and right into propagation dome. 2 days and roots are out the bottom of net pots. Once I see a good root I drop in my DWC.

What I will tell you is this. Pumps and air stones make a difference. I did quite a few bag seed runs before I started figuring shit out.

I am still learning something new everyday and far from a pro in DWC but sure is fun!

I've seen 2 DWC AF grows and they are going to try dirt just to see if it will keep plants smaller. It's a micro set up, but yeah, the AF's love it.
