I have seen people do it I wouldn't recommend doing it but I have seen it done.

I also have 3 autos in a 3 gallon tub and they are coming along well!
If you have space restrictions like me then if you can get more soil in a single container than in seperate ones than it makes sense to me. I would space them out so they arent right next to eachother though and not right on the edge of the pot either. Plant them so that each plants roots can grow out decently in all directions.

........U can definitely put 2 in that size......are u putting them in(transplanting)...or seedstarting them in ? boths ways is ok.
Try at least a handful of bns if u do ,later pull the males and dont worry about if 1 or 2 grows bigger than the other in the pot...the more roots the more they will drink/bloom better for u together...2 plants sometimes end up the same size about too !
I have put multiple plants in a single container a hand full of times. As was mentioned, a fair amount of space between them if you can so that they wont crowd each other.
I think the most important issue though is potential for depth of root space more than the volume of roots... not that having a monster root ball wont impact your results obviously.
When I have done them in the past in the same container it worked out fine because it was a strain that consistently did not branch much if at all and was just a bud on a stick at the end. So no crowding issues. You can not rely on that always being the case though. I am doing three of that strain in a large basket in a hydro setup now and I wish that I had not put them all together as they are crowding the hell out of each other.
No reason not to give it a try but personally I like growing in tall slim containers if using soil because you will have different phenos that grow at different rates and if you have them in separate containers you can move them about and elevate some closer to the light than others if need be.
All things considered I would just look at the space you have and see if you have enough room to try both ways then do it and see how it goes. Just experiment a lot and you will find what works best for you and your space/equipment.
