I am thinking of experimenting with my AutoFlowers..
Since the life span on them are so short would it be possible for me to put two plants in same 5 gallon bucket.

I've done it before, but the plants were not that large. Everything turned out fine. Look at it this way, if you have grown in a 5 gal before and know what u can get out of it and what size plant u put in before, just take that in half... :tiphat:

For auto's I would say a 5 gallon would be plenty, because of their short stature and lifespan they would collide but just continue to reach towards the bottom for some more open soil and thrive. The competition for nutes may also mean they uptake more, and become larger quicker.

Whats the light times for autoflowering when you put them right into the flowering room?

Do you put them in once they grow a certain height? & is it the same 12/12?

Autos grow best on on an 18/6 or 24/0 light pattern, no need to flip the switch to 12/12 to induce flowering as they will do it by themselves when they have reach thier pre-determined height or age

Thanks Zeltar > so can you grow autoflowering strains under 5's or it has to be grown under MH or HPS lights. Also what size from seed should they start to get put under the lights.

Yeah you can grow em under anything, 5's right up to HPS or MH so its down to you. As for when, i put em under light as soon as they have germed and had pretty good results

I know the yields are smaller but if autoflower strains are what anyone is into it's all good. My thoughts are to try a few strains and see if it's for me but like you said it's up to me and some like them & some don't.

Thanks Zeltar

They will adjust to 12/12 easy enough if you wanna hit em with that, they can be stuck in with the rest of ur grow and just can pretty much be left to themselves lol

Thats really cool and I'm puzzled as to why on threads I read growers say they dislike autostrains because they do not produce yields that are like regular plants and are a waist of space and time plus the fact they grow smaller.

Have you had a smaller yield growing auto strains? I mean shit if were talking a gram or 2 that's like splitting hairs.

depends on the conditions but yes the yeilds are smaller, its because autos will start flowering when the pre-determined age / height is reached whereas you could grow a regular plant and veg it till it was 15 feet tall before flowering if you wanted. So like i said it all depends on the situation, Micro grows and indoor grows suit autos, also they are fantastic for experimenting with breeding etc, most of all they are fun low maintenance plants which provide a dank crop with great smoke.

Very good to know and thanks for your words of wisdom ;)

I just ordered a couple of reg packs at the boo from growdoc's gear > GDS10-AngelDust & GDS10-Mix > so I like to have a nice selection and change up but now you have me thinking for space it would be a great Idea to buy a few auto strains and try them out & if all goes well then I have you to thank and if all fails I have myself to blame lol

Im just curious, what would be the benefit of autoflower? From everything i've read on here it still seems like they take roughly 8 weeks to finish. If that is the case it would seem possible to do the exact same thing with a clone that has just rooted if you dont allow any veg time before 12/12. Im not knocking anyone im just trying to understand the benefit.

Autos grow faster because of they are getting twice the light as normal photoperiod plants.

So basically they actually flower faster than a conventional plant? Sorry for the newb questions I just have no experience with auto's and I'm sort of intrigued about whether the difference is significant enough to warrant the obviouos loss in yield over a conventional plant. Is the flower time drastically shorter or are we talking 2 weeks or less? Does the ruderalis in it affect potency? Once again sorry for the newb questions its just alot of times the subjective forums contain little to no real info thats factual, only opinions.
