Autoflower watering amount rough estimate?

Hey guys :tiphat:

I normally wouldn't post something stupid like this because there are such a wide number of factors that can play into how much water plants drink. But does anyone have any estimates for how much water an autoflower (specifically, himalaya blue diesel) in soil drinks per week?

I ask because I'm going to be growing with 5 gallon buckets up in a tree. Each of the buckets will have 3-5 hbd females which will be watered by a blumat dripper, which is supposed to give the plants water whenever they need it. The blumat needs to have a reservoir above it, so I'm also going to be putting a 2-7 gal rez up there. Right now I'm trying to figure out how big of a rez I'll need. I want enough water to sustain the plants for at least a week in hot drought conditions before the rez runs dry. Any ideas? Any input'll help because i've never grown these in soil before. :)

Yeah exactly like that but nowhere near as big of a tree, just enough room for one bigass bucket and a rez, preferably a small rez. And getting water up there is going to bea bitch. I'll have to climb up with however much I can fit in a backpack, and then use a hand pump to get it up to the very top where the rez will be.

I have no auto-flower experience. I can tell you my indoor bushes fed by blumats use a TON of water. 5 gallons of coco with one 4ft tall x 3ft wide bush could suck down >1gal/day. 8 of them use ~75gals/week.

Sooo....depending on your plants size at the time plus ambient temp/humidity, I'd guess between 2 and 5 gals a week. TOTAL GUESS. :D Do we win a prize if we guess correct? :D:D

thanks for the input DevilWeed :tiphat:
After looking through the blumat thread your guess sounds about right. I think a 5 gal rez will work nicely. I'll only be needin to fill it once a week if theres drought conditions...but i've been doing the raindance a lot lately so hopefully that doesn't happen
