Autoflower outdoor fun run.

Spring has sprung and the soil is calling my name. This isn't a huge outdoor guerilla grow, but just a fun project. Seeds were placed in a wet paper towel last night. But no tap roots yet and pics will follow.

But I plan on doing a small outdoor SOG of AFs. I've got a total of 12 starting. 10 AF and 2 Auto Afgani/Chronic*Masterlow. I will probably start them off inside for about a week or so. Recently the woods were chopped behind me. The strip gets about 12 hours of light. Been watching it lately, usually full sun by 7:15 and down by 7:30. They have already planted pine trees, so I know they are finished. It really is a damn shame at the mess they left behind. :beat-dead: Oh well time to have some fun. I haven't got the spot ready still been scoping.

Now I'll probably use a 1.5' * 1.5' area, but I am going to dig deep trench pretty much. I don't plan on doing much more to the soil, soil looks good and dark. May enrich with some time release ferts though. So just follow along if you want. :joint: Will update in a few days.

Im watching man. Was planning my own little plot for AFs this year, wasn't sure on how much space they needed. Good Luck!

Hi Micro420, are you planning to grow in a pine forest that is being replanted? Or are they introducing pines in the area? Because if it's an already established pine forest, chances are the soil is quite acidic because of the breakdown of pine nettles.
Some Dolomite lime mixed into the soil will take care of it (ashes work good too but Dolomite provides Ca/Mg) but you need to let it sit for one or two weeks before using that soil.

Peace, and best of luck! :joint:

What you said in bold. They had planted tiny 5-9" seedlings of pine trees. There was a mix of oaks, poplar, hickory, pine. Soil is pretty good. I've haven't decided yet where to plant them. Though I have been walking around digging soil samples. For the most part I remember what was what, I know the area like the back off my hand. I know where the acidic(pines) parts are. But for the most part the soil has been a tan w/rocks or gray/black with redworms.:joint:

You should be good then bro, I'd personally plant where there are worms in the soil. Keep us updated!

Peace :joint:

Well here are a couple of pics. What it looks like outback.

Somewhere they will grow out there. Got a couple spots pin pointed that I might use. Will observe somemore before I put them out. Also I got a small wooden box a friend gave. Rigged up the 100 watt hps in there so I would have more room. Will show pics later.

Below is Auto Afgani/Chronic cross enjoying some sun. It will be a few more weeks before that is finished. It is repairing itself from light burn. More bud is growing out. Sorry for ghetto looking pic, used a flip flop to give a size scale.

Just a quick update. I have 9 baby AFs up. Don't want to get disappointed yet, but don't think the Auto Afgani/Chronic*Masterlow seeds will sprout.I'd planted 2 of the 4 seeds off the plant. But atleast I have more baby AFs. Also I had a change in mind about growing them outback. I think I may use a pot or 5 gallon bucket to grow them in.

One reason is due to the amount of wildlife. Noticed more deers and rabbits. So atleast they'll be elevated instead of ground level.
Another reason is... well I'm a weather nerd. I love the weather. But anyway last few years we've had some bad droughts. Well I think we're in for another bad one this year too. So atleast them being in a pot will be easy to keep watered and mobile. So anyway else in NC, brace for another drought this year.

id go with at least a 10 gal bucket if you are going to have multiple plants per pot and put maybe 6 - 8 per pot as a max.... dont worry about the number with the killing of some males you will be left with plenty of spave in the pot :D

good luck

Repling from the post above:

Well I'm trying to keep the number of pots to a min. That way I won't have too much to worry about. Hopefully they'll do fine in one. I plan on using a 50/50 mix of potting soil/compost and will probably add a little time release. Besides by the time they sex probably have about 4-5 using a 50/50 male/female ratio.

Anyway transplanted them today. Smaller cups before going into the pot. Been having all of them outside. That way they can get adjusted before fully being outdoors. The big plant is rocking along too. Now I'm not too worried about people finding it. Though to min. the chances decided to stealth the pot. Read this one time in a High Times mag. Thought huh... I'll try it.

It sure hides the green color of the pot. The last pic can anybody spot the pot?
Probably be atleast 5 more days before I actually put them out doors for good.

Thanks for the comments.

I would like to say... I keep it outside last night to finish drying. Well it didn't dry too well. It was wet this morning from dew. So some of the leaves fell off. It will be re-coated again. But for folks thinking about this idea. Don't use the spray glue. Either use caulking or a liquid based glue(like cement). The spray doesn't hold too well. Just found that out and figured I'd give a heads up. :wallbash::yeahthats:

Well that idea didn't work either. Don't know what it was but guess the glue or cement wasn't able to really bond on the molecular scale of the plastic. But I sanded everthing off of it and painted it. Hides pretty well too, used a brown/terra c and some black painted. Sort of sprayed it in a camo way still hides pretty well. Sort of lost it this morning my self.

Can you see it?

But I transplanted them yesterday. Gave them some tomatoe fert. to help with stress. Water them well yesterday, plus the storms last night they've had plenty of water. Even noticed a difference in them today from yesterday. Closing in on two weeks old should start taking off within the next two weeks. Fertlizer time will be next week with some 10-52-10.

I'm kind of stoned right now, just feel like messing around.Pouring and nothing else to do. But still haven't found it?

Well an update. They're about 3 weeks old, closing in on a month. I was expecting to have some bud by the 4th of July. But thats not going to happen. The weather has been ugh... cool nights and semi mild days. Usually been in the mid 50s to for night time lows, but past few mornings have been in the mid 40s. The cool weather is delaying the AF.
They're not flowering yet, but slowly but surely... just the very beginnings of it. Hard to tell but growth is starting between the leaf junctions. Getting some that are pretty stretchy, heights range about 1.5"-2.5". So I may have some decent size little AFs. Now how much bud... too early to worry about it. They may appear to be a little white in color. Something has been munching on them so dusted them lightly with 7dust.

This below is the Auto Afgani/Chronic bud. Pretty potent IMO, is pretty good in flavor too. Its a head/body combo of a high moreso of heady. I could have let it rock some more. But some of the trichs were turning amber. I honestly didn't want it to be full body high. But off the entire plant I got about 23 grams. Not too bad I guess.

Im having the same problem. But I started my indoor for 2 weeks. bout 25 days old with no flowering with the Orginal Lowryder.......

Just a quick update. Pics will follow in a few days. I'm extremely disappointed with these damn things. Defineatly got to get the PC up and running again to generated more seeds. I just hope like hell the remaining 5 seeds that I have on backup sprout and atleast a couple of females.
But yeah they finally showing sex. Unless some of them are actually hermies here is the way it stands now. Out of nine plants..... 8 males and possibly 1 female. I'm going to let those bastards grow and flower to collect pollen for freezing. Oh well some bag seed will be started in there. Still have a decent amount of time to grow some bagseed before fall time.
