My first grow after a hiatus of a couple decades I decided to test the waters with some Russian Rocket Fuel autoflowers.
Seven of ten germinated and were placed in peat pellets, which were in turn placed in germinating mix (Ferry-Morse) in small 4-inch square pots. They are under a bank of six T12s and haven't been fed nutrients yet, as they have yet to grow large enough to transplant into the Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil I have waiting for them.
Which is my first question: what is the expected growth rate for an average autoflower? These showed shoots in the pots on 6/15, I'd expect them to be larger than the 2.75 inches that the tallest ones are.
Also, is an extremely early sex showing the result of a fuckup on my part? The two largest started showing buds at node bases on 6/28, before they even had 3-finger leaves.
And for the final question: since the fan leaves on one or two of them are yellowing slightly on the ends, is it acceptable to give them a nute like FF Grow Big in low strength amounts when they are still in regular peat/seedling mix? After I repot them I expect that the Ocean Soil mix will feed them with no additive requirements, but they're not there yet.
Thanks in advance ...
