Auto Topper

Sup guys. . . . . .haven't been growin any good weed due to security issues,

and I'm happy to say, It's Grow Time :woohoo:

My cab is a freezer.....L19in W21in H58in. This go round I'm gonna wait

until everything's perfect before growing(ended up germin seeds way to early,

and didn't have time to prepare last grow).

So here's what I want to do: I'm gonna be running 4 plants DWC in an 18gal

rubbermaid. Last go round I was toppin off everyday. . . .and workin long hours

I often returned to my babies burned. So I want to add an additional

reservoir On top of my freezer to auto top off my main rez. The rubbermaid

I have to be the external rez is 31.5 gallons.

So my question is, what is the best way to do this without using a pump?

I was thinking, install a floatvalve in my main tub(with the plants).......

run 1/2 in tubing to the bottom of Ex. rez to the float valve. The only thing

is, I'm not familiar with the floatvalves and am not sure if that's how they

operate. If anyone with experience could elaborate, or even help in the

design it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I saw a guys setup and he was using a valve like this. http://www.nationalgardenwholesale.com/detail.php?id=&prod=1416 He mounted it to a small piece of wood attached to the side of a rubber maid container and then bent the arm to the height he wanted. It was really simple.

Oh, wow. . . dude, that thing is beautiful.

Why doesn't lowes carry those kind of float valves. . . . .nearest hydro shop

is 1hr 45 mins away. . . . .not to mention its located right in front of a

sheriff's station. Any ideas on local places to pick a similar one up?

I would try a shop that sells stuff for outdoor ponds and water features. You could tell them you want your pond to auto fill while you're at work or something. I bet they could point you in the right direction.
