Auto Test Grow - Sour 60 UK Greenhouse

Hello there!

OK, so I just wanted share some shots of my just completed Sour 60 grow. This was my first ever auto grow...and my first ever Indica grow to boot.

I grew them out in a John Innes 3 x Multi Purpose x Perlite x Worm Castings soil mix and used the extreme transplanting method. I only used small 6 inch diameter pots (probs about 2 litres volume) just to gauge the potential. I wasn't after yield...just a run through.

I popped 3 seeds and got 3 females. Very vigorous and healthy growth, transplanted when preflowers showed. They exploded with growth then and each plant was structurally quite different. Smells ranged slightly between sour/fuel to berry. Overall the odor levels were extremely low.

These were grown in my greenhouse over the summer solstice where they got about 12 hours of direct sunlight daily.

Here's some pics:

Number 1 - Lovely dense fuely club shaped bud. Very resinous, scissor hash produced a good active smoke, good strength.

Number 2 - Airy slight foxtailing buds, good resin coverage, slightly more fruit with fuel background. Most vigorous plant.

Number 3 - My favourite thus far, kush in appearance, nice budsites with excellent density even lower down. these buds are very dense and weighty. easily the smallest plant to look at...I was thinking it was all leaf but got a shock as I trimmed! Can't pinpoint the smell yet! Very resinous.

I had zero mold issues over the grow period but did uses a fan on them during the latter flowering period.

Next time I'll use much bigger pots as I can see these being high yielders.

Forgot to say I used the BioBizz nute range with a week long flush with rainwater.

Smoke report and dry pics weights to follow in a couple of weeks/months!

Hope this info is useful and please feel free to ask questions.

Thank You Mdanzig! :thank you:

dargo - cheers man! Let's hope they smoke good too...

I'm getting sorely tempted to run some Mi5's and/or Jems...

Just wanted to add that the trichs were about 95% cloudy with a few ambers there too...

Ok ive grown in soil for a long time and have used several different methods, But i have never seen that transplant method before. That looks as if it worked well for you. My question is how did you control the roots in the upper part of the ball? Or did they just tame due to exposure to air and light as the air pots do?

FD - It is a method advocated by the breeder mdanzig. Basically the aim is to maximise the room available for the roots to grow during pre flower stretch. The roots harden and go green if exposed to light...basically become stems!

It would be good to see a comparison done with clones to see if the benefits ring true.

I was certainly impressed...and will do it again!

FD- this technique does work..It's what I was referring to earlier about whether we could do it or not for our '16oz beer cup challenge'.

THM: The Sour 60 looks great! I wouldn´t bother with the Jems if you have space for bigger plants. I have three going right now and by ther look of things the yield will probably be around 10gr each. The potency is said to be good so we´ll see.

After seeing this that was the first thing i thought of and doing that would be like having two cups. So yeah thats a deff no in the challenge lol.

Hey gsmoked, why not buy regular seeds and make f2s? Then you'll have plenty of seeds to play with, and will even be able to make your own feminized seeds if you really want to.
