This might be a dumb question BUT is there any way to veg out a mom so you can take clones when it comes to autos??? Or do you have to buy a seed for every plant you want?

Sorry but yes that is dumb question. Autos wont perma veg like photoperiod based strains will. Look for single seed places to make your life easier.

If you have any other auto questions feel free to ask I'd be glad to answer what ever I can while most people will just tell you to do the research your self. Also I should note there are just a couple strains considered autos that just flower when they begin getting slightly root bound there were rumors of sweettooth auto being like that. Really if you have space for moms stick to photos. Was there any particular reason you had an interest in autos?

Sorry yes it was a dumb question....I had just heard about an auto affect clone before and was wondering if that was possible....
Not sure if the "auto affect clone" will finish successfully. Autos, having a pre disposed maturity aspect- it grows and finishes. If a clone is taken from lower autoflower branches(I've done it a few times as experiment), you cannot change her back to veg mode with increase in light production and higher nitrogen....the part of the Nitrous compounds promoting strong green healthy growth
....or that's been my experimentation trying to clone.
Photoperiods, it takes the light spectrum to change for blossoming (either forced by light regimen 12:12) or by the orange/red hues of August- October in Northern Hemisphere.
Once you chop a plant, you can still revert the photoperiod plant back into vegetation mode. Lower branches uncut or partially chopped....if given 24:0 light for 2-3 weeks, then back to 18:6 with doses of high nitrogen to kick start the plant, it will return to vegetative state.
Sure, the harvest won't be as plentiful....it's good to re-veg, especially if you find this particular plant is worthy of cloning. Did that several times years (20-25?) ago....revert back to veg stage, finding a 'keeper'.
Alas, it cannot be done with a true autoflower strain, cloning. Semi-autos, you might have a better success ratio as plant is not 100% autoflower with ruderalis dominant traits. To me, semi-autos are those with hybrid cross of photo period and autoflower f-1 or f-2's.
When photo/auto hybrids are back crossed with auto genes, it becomes more autoflower "stable", taking a few more generations to be 100% stable autoflower.

It is possible to clone an AF plant. A user on another forum cloned an AF and got something like 19 grams. The 'mother' yielded like 134 grams. So it is POSSIBLE to clone an AF, just don't expect to keep the clone as a mom.

That's because it was a "super" auto, taking more than 90+ days to finish. (Looking at last year's grow journals...it took 110 days seed to harvest).Super Cali Haze falls into that category. Some debate if it's a fast maturing photo or a true auto. Up for debate.
Same can be done with photoperiod, cloning, finishing in 90 days.
Personally, there are other faster sativa dominant photos (Hybrids from Hell) that had a larger yield in 89 days.
SCH was ok....just don't like waiting that long for maturity. So, yeah, clones are possible.

Did some reading, not enough to get a full grasp on how the dynamic of tc'ing and auto would do. I don't think it would be possible, because once established they will continue on with normal growth. I feel a photoperiod plant would be a more likely candidate for a permanent tc. Whereas, I believe an auto would do what they do... Autoflower.
