If you have a recommendation can you grow? Or is that only under having a card.

Cultivation Any amount felony 16 mos - 3 years $

First, don't waste your time looking at what NORML or ASA have to say on the laws. They do not keep their sites up to date.

Second, all you need to legally grow and possess cannabis in California is a valid doctor's recommendation. That's IT.

Yeah I found more info, it gets a little confusing certain counties have different restrictions.

These past couple of years the different counties have been going fucking NUTS enacting their own laws. Many are working to restrict cultivation to the greatest degree possible, and it's not well reported on either site. Once you start getting into what each county is doing, your mind may implode. I know mine did.
