Attaching Flange to Can 2600

I'm a total n00b and have no clue how to put the weather stripping/gasket thing on in between the flange and the Can 2600.
Any help?? Seems to me that it needs to go in between the 2 in a circle like shape but I don't see how that is possible without cutting the thing into pieces and hence eliminating the seal I'm hoping to create.

Thanks for any help.
Peace and Love

Welcome, BennyHogan

I didn't bother with the foam strip thing for my can33.. I just screwed the flange on and then hit up duct tape around the edge.

Hopefully someone can pop in and enlighten both of us about what to do with that thing hehe

I know there's some Can Users out there.....I'm gonna end up in the loony bin if I don't figure out how to put this silly foam strip in between my Can 2600 and the Can Flange.

THanks much,
Cheers

The best way in my opinion is to line the sticky foam strip just barely inside of the spot you're about to screw into, to get the maximum amount of pressure on the seal. Realistically it probably doesn't matter as long as it makes a complete 360 seal.

cut the weather strip into 1-2" pieces and attach it to the flange, the flange should have a circular mark from machining, use that as a guideline, then use the self taping screws

BennyHogan: Care to share your thoughts and review of the CAN 2600? I'm looking to pick one up for a small 150W cab, but hadn't heard much feedback as to their effectiveness.

Does it look as if you can open 'em up and replace the carbon like you can with the CAN 33?

I just glued the flange on with Liquid Nails. Don't understand why the filter didn't come with a flange attached.
