At home sick throwing up.....

I have a blasting headache, couldn't go to sleep last night, I was coughing my lungs up but that went away and now I'm throwing up. But I don't have any food in my stomach so it's just painful dry heaves....

Don't even have any of my favorite anti-nausea medicine.....

Wish me a fast recovery, god knows this sucks.....

Get some ginger out of the spice cabinet and make some tea. Ginger was used (and is still used) as a stomach calmer by herbalists. This is why ginger ale calms stomachs. Ginger tea has more ginger in it than the ale. Don't make it too strong, the idea is to soothe, not overpower. You likely have a fever, too. Disease germs can reproduce only around the normal 98.6 degrees in our bodies. Fevers raise our temperature and slow the germs down, giving the body time to fight the germs. It's rough on us, too, as well as the germs, we aren't meant to function at 100+ degrees. When I feel like I'm coming down with a bug, I make some hot tea, draw a hot bath and turn on the electric blanket. I "make my own fever" by drinking hot chamomile and mint tea in a long hot bath, and then, I take an extra dose of vitamins (heavy on the vitamins A & C), pop into my warm bed and go to sleep for as long as possible. I work in the schools and am exposed to everything the kids get. I am rarely sick.

Thanks for the advice Storm, I did take alot of vitamins when I starting feeling this cold/flu coming on a couple days ago. I've actually stopped vomiting and only occasionaly cough now. Must have been alot of good vibes coming from you people. Can't thank you enough, hopefully tommorow I'll be close to 100% again....

Thats gotta be terrible watching your toddler have dry heaves.....

Good news is the stomach flu doesn't last very long, I usually get over mine in under 24 hours....

 Have you tried cinnamon powder and honey? Calms the stomach and quiets nausea, cures acid reflux and helps with arthuritis - in fact with daily doses over time alzheimers and arthuritis have been reversed.

Wow Moose, I'm glad I didn't get that particular flu......

1Toke, I just waited it out. Thanks for the advice though, I'll keep that in mind. Reversed alzheimers and arthuritis? Wow, why don't people put more researching into natural cures......

This particular variation seems to have intense nausea for less than 12 hours, followed by a 'cautious stomach' for several days, and 'runs' to either side of that. But it has bone, skin, and muscle aches the likes of which I've never seen before; feels like someone sticking steel bars into your joints, muscles, and tendons, and twisting them around like a screw-driver.

I have that shit Moose, puked a few days ago, painfull joints, tired, very cautious stomach for days..and headaches ahhh
