I've had a few reports lately of new members PM ing other members and asking for seeds, clones and even herb. I would like to remind these people that it is against the Terms of Use for the site and you can be banned. If anyone receives a PM from another member asking for seeds, clones or herb would you please notify either myself, DG or GN.

LEO could have a field day here or any other site if we didn't keep on top of things. A free pack of seeds seems like a good deal until your door comes down. It isn't worth the gamble. I can't stress it enough. You may think you know someone after chatting for a few days. But in truth you have no idea who someone really is.

whats the risk in SENDING seeds? I was going to send someone some seeds. I figured I would print the envelope and seal with a envelope sealer (bottle of water with foam). That way no DNA or fingerprints.

Guy I was going to send to has a couple hundred posts.

Its too bad we cant share, but its the only way we can stay safe. I see a lot of talk about trading seeds etc, I've gotten many offers and its tempting but I say no, I have enough seeds to grow and if I want more safety is worth the cost of just buying them!

We have seen that many members in the past get into hot water one way or another by 'hooking up' with other members for trading in clones, beans, erb'.......e.t.c.

....While some seem to have a positive reaction from these 'trades' many have come un-stuck because of it and have suffered in one way or another.....please remember that your security is PARAMOUNT......Don't risk it by trading with some entity that you cannot really trust.....that you meet on the internet and so don't really know at all.....

Don't give out your personnal info.....EVER..........You perhaps have much more to loose than the entity that you might be trading with......and so it is against the sites TOU (terms of use)......Your security means as much to us as it should do to you.....

appreciate the efforts for our security. and security is #1

I had a bunch of plants pollinate accidentally and wound up with seeds from some decent lines. So someone asked if I would send the seeds to them. No trading, just drop in the mail to them. How could I put myself at risk? Not being sarcastic here, just want to know if there is any risk. If so, I wont send them

Well, risk is always lower for the sender than the receiver. You absolutely can send safely, securely and successfully. There are a lot of seedbanks that do it every day.

If I had the posts I would tell you a way that no one has used yet.

It's a lot lower risk but its still a risk, but in my opinion you could pull it 100%..... but if its against TOU.....

You have fingerprints. They have cameras at post offices. I'm sure there's other things to. It's your choice but why not let someone send the seeds thats legal to do so? If you are growing I would say you're foolish tying it, but it's your life. Just be careful.......And yes it is against the TOU of the site....

Things have become quite clear to me recently, that all seed transactions really should go through SB, for more reasons than one. Hmmmm...promote Gypsys business or risk my freedom, for free?.............I'm gonna stick with door 1, Bob!

I see what you guys are saying and its very imprtant to do thid.If not you guys could be held responsible(DG or GN)since they host the site.I wouldnt want them getting introuble just for a pack or two of seeds and a few buds.I have seen alot of people talk about transactions through icmag.I myself was suppose to get a grow light. That is still off limits though. So thats a no go I think.

Gloves...
Not every mail drop box has a camera on it...

but still a no trading policy is a good one.

I see a lot of eluding to trading etc, sort of a send it my way kinda thing hint hint Pm Pm etc. Whats really distressing is I see people in threads about specific locales talking about trading which seems super dangerous to me considering its where I'd hang out and fish if I were local LEO. We should be able to trade but its illegal for most of us so we cant risk it, just buy from a seed bank in the UK or NL like seedboutique and sleep well.

its not really you at risk... its the person asking as well say.. you where dea and he/she gives you the addy.... even if it where a safe addy it would not take to long to find out where the grow was.... :fsu: be safe is all i can say vi banned 2 ppl in the chat room just yesterday for doing this in open chat :spank:

The PM function is yours to use. But use it wisley.

If it's someone you have known for that many years and you trust them, wouldn't it be better to communicate through regular means? And I always keep my PM box clean and store what I need on a disc off my pc........

I dont want to prod, but didnt Gypsy ask all IC users to send him seeds for freebie packs to giveaway? Would that not be the same thing? Only curious...

I think I'm going to forward this question to him to answer.....I would see one difference as Gypsy is not LEO and is a known entity.....
