.hey old fart , i post a thread in the indoor hydro and pirate was trying to help me out with a problem.he suggested i ask you and he told me to say he sent me to ya.

the problem didnt start till after flowering
i had a few clones in a turbo garden vegging in the tent and was having some problems (iron i was told ,i bumped up the feed and clones started looking better so i started to flower.
during veg i had a vented 400 mh and switched to a 600 hps vented hood . the hood was 2ft away. the first week the clones look good ,at the end of the second week they started looking yellow.now 23 days and clones looking more yellow .
i took the 600 down and put a diy vented cool tube 400 hps yesterday.

when i switched to bloom i set the tds at 850 (during vegg the tds was 800). then i let it go for about a week with out checking , when i did check it it had climb to 920/940 . i removed some nutes from the tub and back filled with plain tap water .the tds came down to 850 , i let it sit there a day or so . today i took out 2 gallon and back filled again with plain tap water. the tds came to 820 . later on today i added 30 ml of koolbloom . i have 23 gallon in the reservoir.

PH looks low IMO. Maybe even rootbound. I suggest making a batch of confirmed good nutrient water and overwatering those plants for a minute. See how that works over the next couple weeks. Good luck.

hey chili, thanks for stopping in .these clones are in a turbo garden ( small ebb n flo 2x3 table ).. the ph is at 6.0 and i dont know if they are root bound . roots are coming out the bottom of the pot .when i put the clones in the pots i did put them close to the bottom ( 1 inch or so from the bottom ).
this batch of nutes is about 9 days old and ya it's about time to change . the clones get watered for 15 minutes every 3 hours 24/7.

i took the clone out of the turbo garden and put it in that plastic tray so i could take it outside to get a better pic . the hps lights make for sh#ty pic .

Hey greenhornets do you any other space you set your plants up in for a week to see if the problem eases and maybe life comes back to them and is your habitat tent PVC or PU.

The way your leafs are washing out between the veins is very similar and they don't have the spots associated with PH problems or the tip burn of nute burn.

If it is the tent then the damage so far defnitely looks recoverable, unlikely to get the full potential of the strain, but should still be ok. One solution is to remove the canvas skin including the base liner bit and recover the frame with mylar. quite a professional job can be done or you can just throw the mylar over depending on how much other light you have in the room. Its best to use new stuff and since its in your veg room you would be best to check inside for light leaks. If you need the holes for hoses there are cut in flanges available from homebox although I haven't seen suppliers stocking them.

hey neuroherb, i think im just gunna ride it out .i have i think about 4 1/2 weeks left . i just put a few newly rooted clones in there about 3 days ago for sexing . after they show sex im just gunna just pullen out . i have a jack herer and a haze x skunk ,hope theyre girls. thanks for the link , sound like you did some research on this problem .

I use GH Flora 3 part with the same ratios as the chart for veg (3:2:1) and CalMag+, a transition in the first three weeks of flower from the veg nutes to Lucas(2:3 micro:bloom) and CalMag+.

I have ~13 cubic feet NGB split for veg and flower. I have a 4" exhaust, 14" intake total. Each grow chamber has it's own intake. Each grow chamber vents to the utility room then out the cab. I use a bake a round cool tube for the hps. I have a pc fan in each grow chamber blowing on the bulbs and the tops of the canopy. All fans run 24/7.

Is the fan blowing directly at plants?

Somewhat, the pc fans are low cfms, only blowing across canopy

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?

I water thoroughly and wait for the pots to dry before watering again.

Is your water HARD or SOFT?

soft hard, lol

Town water (15ppm) and fluctuates between a ph of 8 and 6.5 depending on how much rain we get. More rain lowers the ph. I also use native spring water that is averaging 6.5 to 7.5ph. This spring water comes off the mountain and registers .000ppm on my calibrated Milwaukee T75. I'm wondering if I have a micro nutrient def. because of the low water ppm.

Are you using water from a water softener?

no - when using town water I evaporate chlorine for 72 hours. I used warm tap water the first week of flower because I thought the chlorine evaporated quicker. Could I have introduced bacteria from the water heater? I didn't do this after the first week of flower (didn't do it at all in veg.)

Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?

No.

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?

No.

Are plant's infected with pest's?

fungas gnats, not very bad. I may see 3 or 4 when I pull the pots out to water. I've been trying to let the pots get a little dryer between waterings than usual. I try to water before I see any dry droop.

I hope you can help me out, here's the pics:

First signs, the plant is medium green, might be a slight nitrogen def. Then I get this: (appeared in the second week, bottom of plant, large fan.)




Second to third week, nitrogen def not as bad with exception of afflicted lower fans:



Beginning of 4th week, plant size is somewhat diminished, bud size is small for this stage of growth: At first, half the leaf seemed to be affected. Now, one or two individual leaves seem to be affected on both sides (second pic.)






I'll give you more pics if needed.

I smoke in the grow room. I read a thread or two about the tobacco virus. Any thoughts on this if apply?

PS - forgot to mention I used peat seed starter with lime for the veg stage. Everything seemed to be all right until a few days after transplanting to the flower mix listed above. I later discovered that the seed starter has a lower lime content than typical flower mixes. I read a thread that says peat is okay until roots start to spread. Could I have a hot spot problem going on due to the peat root ball?
