"The staggering number of marijuana strains being developed is creating a connoisseur culture that favors small-scale, artisanal farms that can nimbly adapt to shifts in market demand."
The author drank the koolaid, most of these strains have the same 'Kind' high, I expect more from my artisanal weed of the future.
Sad to say but I believe Big Weed will be delivering the high I'm looking for through GMO techniques long before Ma and Pa farms are able to recover the combination of genes through standard breeding practices.
youcan smoke the gmo weed of the future if you want, but i won't be.
we have so many awesome genetics available, why would we need GMO weed?
i think they will be adding terps to weed before they start selling gmo weed.
Yeah they are doing this already with some cbd buds . I bought some from a headshop a couple months ago and it had terps among other things added. It was terrible, I felt sick after smoking it . Headache and general not feeling great .
And I agree 100% , most of us who grow, will not be smoking GMO weed.
People are complaining about flavoured buds already.

Apparently there's a lot more to achieving the quality of the high available 1960-1999 than terps, does anyone even know what causes a high to be long-lasting?
Howz about euphoria, real euphoria, not just 'up'.
Psychedelic qualities, spiritual?
I'd do GMO weed if it had these qualities 'cause they sure aren't available from anything I've smoked (seed grown, street, dispensary) in the past 18 yrs.

After mass marketing campaigns, Bud Light has convinced consumers that no flavor low potency beer is the top of the heap.
I can't wait to see the cattle consumers get herded towards flavorless weak weed.
Don't worry America... it's cheap.
....
I think the hops market is a market, it's logical for the Cannabis market to resemble it.
My guess is there's Big Hops and there's local hops.
As long as there's no Monsanto-Bayer hops !
Why would it be any different from chocolate ?
(Besides one being a flower that grows on large bushes, and the other is from a bean, but anyway)
You can go to Costco and buy 100 pounds of Nestle Crunch.
Or you can go to a Fudge Store in some high end touristy district, and buy premium fudge, maybe even THC fudge, and pay a lot more.
