Arguing with kids at college

So I just got done arguing with these two guys about what dro is. They were trying to convince me that dro is a kind of weed.
I smoked some pot with them (never do that again) and they said it tasted good so I told them it was organic. They told me that it wasn't organic, it was dro. I tried to explain to them the difference and they told me I obviously don't know what i'm talking about because organic weed is schwag/mexican. They proceeded to tell me how much "experience" they have with MJ.
So I asked them what was their favorite kind/kinds of MJ?
They answered "dro nowadays but back in the day they stuck with kind and indo"
I asked them what kind of prices they get and they said "I can't tell you that but I grow some exotics in my room"
You would figure you could think of some better shit than that. What's funny is both these guys are older than I am.

i doubt it dude. there really are some dolty wannabe connoisseurs out there. EVERYONE around here thinks "purp" is a certain strain. it will easily sell for 40gram, but i've never bought any obv.

i always just let ppl like this be with their wrong info cause thats the worst kind of people to get weed friendly with...they run their mouths too much

Especially when they can't own up to their own ignorance.

My choice would be to simply accept the fact that they are unclear of what the deal is. So what to do...rather than just call them wannabes, why not teach them what's right, so they don't spread the plague of ignorance to other people? That's what I'd do. Nobody has a clue if they are true "wannabes" or if they are just clueless, so what's the point of assuming? Doesn't help anyone in the end, or in the long run.

Well, some people are more than willing. Ya can't always assume they are not willing. The reoccurring theme I see here is assumption.

From my experience, most regular-joe type cannabis consumers aren't all that in the know about different growing methods. While they seem to have a working knowledge of how a plant grows, distinctions like organic or hydro seem to baffle them...

While it irks me to no end when people claim things like "hydro means growing weed in a glass of water" or "blacklights make a plant more potent", I generally keep my mouth shut aside from saying something to the effect of "That doesn't sound right" or "I think you might be a little off."

I just prefer to keep a low profile and let the fools think what they want. I'm not interested in teaching them anything, because the more knowledge you openly display about growing, the quicker people will suspect you, especially if you are always holding top-notch nugget.

i was just thinking of making a thread about the most stupid thing a "know it all" has ever said to you. this guy i know swears you make hash by composting weed. he said just put it in a big pile and turn it every couple weeks, keep it warm and after a couple months, you got black tar left thats hash.
