Hi all! It`s my 3rd grow, and now I have 2 BBGs in the 3rd week of flowering... One of them has the buds with this strange red color... Looking at the macros they look like little trichomes forming, but I`ve never seen red trichs before, esp. this early into flowering :D But then again, I`ve never grown BubbleGum before, just some NL ;) Could this be what I think they are?... :joint:

its hard to see but it does look like the trichs are filling with some purple:chin:

only other thing it could be is some sort of fungus..does it rub off? what's your relative humidity?

be well and gorgeous shots, would love to see a plant pic if ya ever post any send me a link :)

be well

too bad you don't have a $2,000 camera to show em off for us... still I can't say I've ever seen anything like it.

Did somebody say purple trichs? Here's a couple...
I'm not sure whats doing it... The calyx under it is purple so maybe it's a reflection or some sort of prism effect from the light inside the trichs... Pretty cool tho if you ask me... :D

Hi guys! Sorry that the macros don`t look so good.. I will take better shots when the trichs will grow a little bit :yummy: Now they are so small that you could barely see them with the naked eye... The plants are BBG from Nirvana :D

Like I said, they are in the 3rd week of flowering, and almost stopped streching, so I thought it would be a good time to start looking for trichs developing :chin: First I thought they were some kind of fungus or insect eggs  because I had some trouble with several kinds of pests a couple of weeks before (It seems I took care of that for now)

I don`t know if this is a coincidence or not, but when the plant was young I did see some young purple/pink leafs forming that I thought they were signs of nutrient deficency:

And another strange thing was when I had a little accident with this plant back in the first weeks of veg... I was training her (the good old LST) and tied her down... (This was my first time to try LST, in the past I always topped my plants...) And the strings I used were too thin I think, that it kind of cutted the stem on the middle of the plant... The strange thing was that it "shed blood" .. I mean I know the sap is usualy transparent, but this girl had a reddish sap, and looked like blood :D I didn`t take any pictures then, and now the wound looks healed, and the stem is much thicker than it was then...

CaptainJack: here`s how my girls look like... The one with the reddish trichs is the one on the right and she is 76 cm (30inch) tall... The other one is taller, 86 cm (34inch) tall.. I know that the one on the right seems taller, but I had to raise her to keep up with the other one...

Blackmelo: I think those are trichs because they showed up after 20 days of flowering usualy when the trichs are forming, and not in the first days of flowering.. And they seem to be only on the buds, and on the leafs near the buds... Here`s a shot of the bud :yummy:

wow that is awesome flatt.
Rookie nice purple trichs, you can actually tell they are purple. This is completely new to me.

Flat, I've had a plant bleed before too but I thought it was strange aswell. It was a Nirvana White Rhino that showed red fluid but in my observations, the fluid at the cut was invisible first and then turned red as it came in contact with air.
It was really weird seeing a red fluid drop out of the spot where I'd just topped it.

Yeah I can't say that I know what causes it.. This is my thiid time growing this strain... It's the first time i've seen it....
I have seen others get it a couple of times.... So it may not be as uncommon as we'd like...
Well here's to purple trichs, and I'll tell you guys in a week or so if it's really good weed or not.... :D

While it's never happened to me, a couple of years ago a friend of mine had a room filled with plants with trichs of the same color. He was doing a true old-style SOG and the color was outrageous. As I remember, the high was a total couch-lock.

Enjoy and keep us posted.

Hey Rookie, your trichs are so mature.. Mine are just begining to develop :D Take a look:

I see that the red color is only in the top bulb of the trichomes and the stalks are transparent as usual... I wonder how can you tell when the plant is mature enough to chop down :chin:

Hehehe... Thats awesome.... Pretty creepy at the same time... :D
Mines the opposite... The stalks r colored but the heads are fine... Wierd eh...
I dunno what you would do about checking for ripeness.... Maybe they all won't be purple?
Mine are at day 50, so yeah they're pretty mature.... Should be chopped in a matter of a week give or take...
Can't wait....
