a micro- not tele-, for looking at the stalked capitate trichomes and being able to discern their color (clear=head high, cloudy=mediated high, amber=couchlock high). Depending on which effect you are anticipating you harvest at the time you think will mostly produce that effect.:clock watch:
oh darn...btw, welcome to ICMag, nice healthy looking plants in those pics!!!

Deidree, i would wait until 85 percent of the hairs are dark orangeish.

Deidree dont forget to do a nice flush. start 7 to 10 days before harvest with ph balanced water with 1 table spoon of black strap molasses per gallon of water. or use clearex at 20 to 30 ml per gallon. flush until all the leaves turn yellow or purple or change from green. usually 7 to 10 days but 14 is fine.

This will flush nasty salts and chemicals out of the soil and roots, which makes your bud hit smoother and taste better.

When you dry them cut the whole plant hang it upside down and trim as much leaf off as you can which will also make it hit better. Make sure you have good air flow in the drying room and low humidity to prevent mold. To test to see if it is properly dry you should be able to snap off a bud clean. the stems should snap not be bendy.

cure in glass jars and open the them once a day for at least one hour for a month. this will provide the best smoking experience.

good luck, enjoy and stay safe. :D
