Are my seedlings stressed out?

Maybe a bit less water...I don't see perlite in that soil...maybe 1/4 strength nutes for a while and see what happens.

Hey Riboflavin,

sorry to hear your plant doesn't feel very good.
I can't see what the pot is, a plastic cup of coffee or a mug?
I would suggest to get it a real home, i.e. a black pot with drain holes.
I hope that this one has holes or your roots have probably started rotting.

Also, the leaves curling up may come from low RH..you should keep an eye on this.

About the stain on the leaf..I would say light burn, but I have no idea if it can come from the genes.

And I agree with ibjamming, get more perlite for the next transplant, and I mean, A LOT MORE!

Good luck!

Are my seedlings stressed out?

Hello all, I was wondering what you think of these plants I got a little worried and thought I'd ask IC mag but maybe I'm over thinking things. This is in relation to the grow in my sig. Coco, 400W hps, GH nutes at 1/2 strength

This plant seems to have some curling going on, the edges of the leaves seem to very slightly be curling upwards. Could this be the sign of something bad to come?

This plant has some downward curling on the leaves, and also has an odd splotch on one leaf. Is this genetic or maybe a light burn?

It also seems like there is some general droopiness going on here, any help is always appreciated :1help:

Hey guys thanks for the advice, I think they should be fine in these cups for a while, plenty of drain holes and I make sure they drain well every watering. As for the RH, yes its low, around 30% should I try and get a humidifier?

I thought they would be ok as 100% coco in these small containers, but I'm definitely going to mix some in next time and put an inch or two of solid perlite at the bottom.

Yesterday as the plants were starting to get dry, I noticed the drooping increase. I figured it was just because they were thirsty and dried out. I fed them at 1/2 strength and now my drooping has gotten way worse! I was expecting to wake up this morning to happy plants but instead they have only gotten worse all night long, the leaves are all hanging way down low. What could the cause of this be? Not enough air for the roots? Time to transplant w/perlite? Thanks!

I only had enough supplies to transplant 4, the other 4 will be done in the morning.

They are now in big 10L pots with a nice amount of perlite mixed in. I could only find the miricle grow kind that has a little bit of nutes on it, but its such a small amount I don't think it will effect anything.

Should I give them a good watering now that they are in new pots? The new coco isn't exactly moist.

Riboflavin,
It's always recommended to water after transplanting.

Also I wanted to comment on going from beer cups to 10L pots. Generally it's best to up-pot in smaller increments. Small plants don't use much moisture and if in large pots...they stay wet too long.

And remember to go easy with the nutes.

People sometimes have difficulty with seedlings in coco. That's usually related to sodium left behind. Brick coco needs to be pre-flushed to get rid of excess sodium. Hope they're doing OK.

This happens to my seedlings all the damn time in coco. I avoided it last time by starting them in a soil mix, then this last run I started them straight into coco again. They looked great for the first week, then went downhill until I started watering them with Head's full 6/ 9 GH recipe. And this was in a mix of 50/ 50 coco perlite!

Did you remember to PH correct the water? It's not necessary for me running at 6/ 9, but at half strength of 3/ 4.5 it turned out my PH was too high and the GH buffer wasn't strong enough. I didn't realize it until I'd damn near killed the little ones. They were stunted, drooping, yellowing from the bottom up, and they didn't smell right.

Yes I do PH my water, I used distilled water and bring it up a bit before I feed (6.0)

I have transplanted 5 of them and they are all looking happy now! Growing fast too I must say. I ran out of coco however and can't get more for another 12 hours yet :( Hopefully they will make it, they look pretty sad.
