Depending on the amount of plants you are vegging, the 1-100 watt MH will work. If you want to combine them you can.....

the MH 100 will outperform those fluoros, so i would say use them as supplementation to your MH

T-8 floros work very well in veg, as long as you're not trying to grow trees before going into flower. I veg to about 14 - 18" under the floros. I took down both my Mh( 400 & 250) and went with floros for veg. I don't regret it at all. It is especially nice in summer to help keep the temps down. Use the t-8's for kitchen and bath and your ready to go.

Cheers,
SH

I have two 4 ft 4 lamp T-8's for early veg and they kick happy hianus, kepp the growtips 1/4 inch below the lamps and bend those fans down when they reach for that beautiful floursecent light,if you're vegging at two or three inches you're missing the full flogoodness. You'll have to raise the fixture daily as during dark hours they'll grow into the lamps.Whcih does absolutely no harm.I'd rather grow them touching the lamps then grow them at 2-3 inches anyday

Thanks everyone! i was worried the t8's wouldnt be enough but sounds like they will.
i'll keep them close to the bulbs like you said and might even add the 100watt MH i have just for fun.
i have a 400watt HPS for flowering so this should work great. be cool

Having used a MH250 on newly rooted clones,no way a 100 MH will outperform 4T-8s if used correctly.I choose my 2 4 lamp flo's while the 250 gathers dust.Use them correctly and you cant do much better for early veg.Good to switch to larger pots and lights after 8 or 10 inches of growth though

I see no problem using the t8's... They work great (like t12's) for seedlings, clones, and vegging (till about 12" or so) plants out... If your temps are cool enough, I'd go ahead and throw the mh in there for extra lumens (though keep it a safe distance away from the tips of the plants, use the back of your hand to test the heat) as it will do nothing but help them veg faster...
