Appalachia, Alpha D and more

Hey guys trying to get the dry nugget pictures down. Any suggestions to help or comments in general would be appreciated! I have a canon g10 and just the regular 6x optical lens. These pictures were taken with the macro mode and cropped from full 12.1 megapixel resolution.
