Apollo11 compared to C99

I realise that the Apollo is derived from the C99, but what are the main differences between these two strains? How different are they, both in the way they grow and the way they smoke.

C99 sounds very appealing to me and am therefore curious about the A11 as well.

Any other strains in this league worth considering?

i am debating whether its worth it to pick up the new sensi jack herer stock and pheno searching.. some say its 'watered down' now from the old stocks that all the wonder plants came from.. but i feel like there has to be treasures left in it to find.

rez says he's doing a genius back cross and new apollo those may be interesting.

I have grown out both C99 and A11. The C99 was more racy, paranoia-inducing and hazy then the A11. Out of the A11 plants that I grew, I got 1 plant that smelled like grapefruit and was excellent. Nice, balanced high that was racy if too much was smoked but it was my fav of the 2.
So my conclusion is that you cant go wrong with either of these 2. :joint:

C99 - Very euphoric, leaves you with a glow and a totally stupid grin on your face, but can be a bit edgy/nervy, or make you imagine things. Quite disorienting, too.

A11 - THE cerebral weed from the cindy stable, cool, brainstormy stuff, I also find it makes people quite talkative. Does not disorient, great daytime weed.

Both grow with weak stems, finish very quickly, and have outstanding crystalisation.
Yield is good on both, though obviously not up to the levels of "commercial" strains.

The seeds I grew were Spice Bros. although the strains both seem more or less consistant, regardless of source.

Like everyone mentioned, C99 can be racy, so if you're prone to paranoia, stay clear.
What really strikes me about A-11 is the clarity of the high. Grimm Bros. even pronounced it with their description:
"Our big-yielding, lemon-scented female clone named "Genius" because of her CLEAR, energetic, thought-provoking high was crossed with a robust Cinderella 99 male to create Apollo Eleven."

There's a reason they spelled CLEAR in bold, and it showed thru in all phenos I grew out from F1 stock.

C99 is missing something important in the high imo.

its ok weed, but the comedown is pathetic like a cliff

i grew A11 and C99 side by side

the A11 was much more indica than the c99, in general its a great choice much better than c99

the nugs are DEnse as any ive seen before.

some get color outdoors too there and bigger, nice yeilds

the c99 was NOT racy, some people just havent had a real racy high
once you get to the sativa landraces it ruins a bunch of dutch hybrids for ya.....

Where did you get your C99 from? I have certainly grown c99 and the high WAS racy. After a few puffs I could feel my heart rate increasing and my body getting warmer. And Ive only got this feeling from good sativas so I doubt its a lack of smoking experience on my part. It may not be as intense as some sativas but its definately there.

Interesting what NeptHaze said about the C99 comedown, I'd have to agree. The high also has a definite ceiling, smoking more won't send you soaring, it'll have you stuck to a couch sweating bullets. Cashing a blunt of Grapefruit (only 75% Cindy) to the face while watching Training Day was interesting to say the least.

I can't believe there are some negative comments about C99! ... it just shows how spoilt we are these days :lurk:

I'd have to agree with pretty much everyone here. C99 is a lil more racy feeling than A11, or almost as those the A11 is just a 'more quality' high, les jittery, happy, nice. And the C99 is sweeter, I find A11 more dank, a lil more funk to her.

I smoke the c99 in the day, and the a11 anytime.

here's the C99 i grew:

and here's the A11 i grew:

As u can see, they're very similar in growth, flower time. The A11 is an original Bros Grim selection, the C99 is from F3s..

I've grown and smoked lots of each and prefer Cindy in every way to Apollo 11. The only time Cindy seems edgy to me is when smoking Cindy from scissor hash... the shit can be electric!

Terrible analogy but Apollo 11 lacks the pop and fizzle... like a flat coco-cola vs the Cindy with fresh soda fountain goodness and a new CO2 tank on the line.
