Here you go ICMag, I grew some pot just for you!

Apollo 11 f2's from Spice Bros.,
frosting up nicely at 27 days of 12/12,
first run of them,
second grow ever,
did I get lucky?!

Fat ass branch and the greasiest of the bunch, to me she's Apollo 3.

Show some love and throw up your A11 pics to compare. Also if anyone wants to chime in I'm really curious about the alleged Genius pheno. I've heard it branches profusely and smells like oranges? I don't know, I came up relatively dry when I tried to search. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

O and for those of you who were curious, of my 3 Apollo ladies, two smell strongly of grape soda and one of ripe cantaloupes!!! One grape is yielding better and the cantaloupe is the fattest one (last pic)!!!!

Peace

Very nice guys! Now I know YBC ran the Spice Bros. f2's like me but BG and mtnjohn, where are your Apollos from? And to the three of you, what do your Apollos smell like? (I find this is very subjective but am still curious)

And BG that second pic kicks ass! I hope mine fill out like that. What are your grow conditions (light, medium) and nutes? How long did you let your Apollos go?

Thanks for the replies guys. And does anyone know anything about the Genius???

Few more pics for you.... them 3 Apollos be sittin' in 3gal bags along with 3 AngelDust under a 400w with some help from that 42w cfl.

 Thanks Yellowmoon

Was your plant from clone or from seed? It looks like seed, was it mature when you flowered it (like alternating nodes signaling sexual maturity)? My apollo's were all alternating before I made the switch to 12/12 and I think this helps speed up the transition to the flowering phase. I don't know but that's what I think. :joint:

I'm sure that your A11's will fill out nicely...i'm using 400w hps...totally organic (of course) in soil...BioBizz nutes...I cut her down around 50 - 56 days...pretty fast...My Apollo is from SpiceBros...and it smells like grape/ripe green apples..very nice aroma...I like this plant a lot...but it seems to be very hard to clone :chin:

Yea it was from a seed. I wish it was possible for me to run a garden all-year along. :chin:  I grew 12/12 from seed, so you just may be right there about that theory. Having a hurry sucks.

 BG, oooo thanks for the extra pic it's gorgeous! I'm using 400w too but not quite all organic nutes. I've been using the FF big 3 for veg (well mostly growbig) and then bought some GH nutes for flower. I know the FF's are like 98% organic but I don't know about the GH stuff.

Do you have any dried shots, BG? Mmmmm just thinking about it lol. O and a side note all 11 clones I took (2 from each apollo and each angeldust minus 1 from AD3) rooted fairly easily in a homemade bubbler cloner once I tweaked the environment. For the first week they weren't looking too good so I lowered the heat (had a heating mat underneath it but turned it down), added a touch more water so that the stems were submerged at least 1/4 inch, added a second airstone (couldn't hurt), and most importantly added a humidity dome. The dome did the trick as before I was misting them by hand and they weren't retaining moisture very well. What method do you use BG?

Ah Yellowmoon that's a bummer. At least you got some prime smoke from that thing... it looks amazingly dank for 75w of CFLs. Do you have any other grows under the same conditions? Just curious. :joint:

Peace

The 4 Apollo's I had from seed, 3 turned out to be female!

wicked pics apollo fans. astronauts, hehe.

my current mother is from SpBros too and i am running a couple of gifted cuts that originate from Joey Weed seeds to compare. I was also gifted some beans that are supposed to be the result of open pollenations of a pack of original BG and those will be grown out at some point too. She's a lovely girl and I'm determined to find a really great example.

i found the SpBros version to stay true to the key best bits of the original and were surprisingly stable (result of a 1x1 cross?) and i was very happy with the results, i haven't got the best of her yet at all but she fills out quite nicely. my current keeper after a few weeks in the jar has a full on supa sweet grapefruit taste with a sour apple backing. it's one of those weeds that takes you somewhere tropical everytime you spark one up.

better go skin one up!

Yo ANO, that sounds awesome man. Let us know how the different Apollos line up. I'm REALLY interested in the results of that open pollination from the original bros. grimm stock and will be interested to know what you find among them!

As far as the Spice Bros. gear goes... do you have any tips on getting the most out of her? I think you mentioned that they like a light soil that drains well but is there anything else to know? I have clones of my three ladies and, based on my results so far, am planning on running clones of Apollo 3 only on my next grow. She's the fattest yielding and most resin coated of my three specimens and smells of ripe cantaloupe. I'll probably give in and flower out a few clones of Apollo 2 as well which smells strongly of sour grape soda/candy (perhaps with a smidgen of apple thrown in too).

Lastly, do you have any insight on this whole Genius business, ANO? It seems like out of anyone here you might know best. Also how do you get such a high calyx to leaf ratio? Is it anything in the growing or simply genetics?

Cool, thanks for the info and thanks for dropping in again.

I'm using homemade bubbler cloner with dome too...and every other strain clones easily...just A11 are very hard to root :chin: I've been using this method for years...no problems before...well, I can solve this out ;)
Here's some dry shots :D

Mmm diggin' the dry pics, BG. And as soon as my clones get big enough they'll be sliced up for more clones.. at that point I'll see how easily they root and of course post back about it. Hopefully it's not TOO bad cause I would like to keep these around for awhile.

Thanks for stopping by Lou, it's an honor!

Peace

edit: BeAn! Didn't mean to neglect your post, d'oh! Thanks for posting up your veg pics, I love how the A11 looks in veg. It almost looks mean or badass or something like that lol.

hey dyren  bros grimm found 3 outstanding females (princess, genius, cafe girl) and at least one male from seeds in a bag of jack herer from sensi smile in amdam. a11 is genius x c99 (where genius is one of the original outstanding plants) and c99 is essentially a cubed version of a sister of genius, princess.

i think these are Mr Souls words -

MrSoul said:
P.50 = Princess/(ShivaSkunk/Princess'Brother)
P.75 = Princess/P.50
Cinderella 88 = Princess/P.75
Cinderella 99 = Princess/Cinderella 88
Each generation exhibited a MAJOR jump in potency: P.50 was rather mellow, P.75 has a well-balanced body/mind high with a citrus flavour, Cinderella 88 is cerebral & paralyzing with a tropical fruit flavour, and Cinderella 99 is "TRIP WEED" with more of the fruity flavour and speedy effect from Princess

the genius pheno from the a11 is supposed to have the most balanced high, a smart high hence the genius tag. phenotypical expressions supposedly include plenty of branching and this branching has an angular growth pattern. this is a trait i see on many strains though so i don't take it as conclusive. the one i keep almost fits the high profile but also includes some giggle for good measure but none of the slight edge i got from a friends c99 sample (never grown c99).

hey BG, i found some of my SBr A11 (SBrA11# 1-3 & 6 & 8 and JWA11#2) were slow to root and one of the two JW examples is also slow. the other SBr A11s and the other single JW (JWA11#1) example however were fairly quick. not as quick as say the uk cheese which is a lightning rooter but not at all bad.

great pics everyone. enjoy your a11. :D
