apollo 11 and bubble gum. smells like teen spirit!

howdy.

i got a new camera so i thought i'd show off my new stuff.

the apollo 11's are from the spice bros via a friend who will hopefully stop by and say howdy. the bubble gum is from serious.

i have a dail up (long story) so this will take a couple days to upload some pics. come back later!

they have been in flower for 44 days if you count from as soon as i went from veg to 12/12. (actually more like 11.5/12.5).

i am VERY lazy when not at work so i don't water them as much as i should but it's just me and a friend so i grow more than enough. i usually give away a few ozs just to keep my stash kinda low...like 12 oz. lol over the course of a 60 day flower period, between every watering i only turn on the 60 watt bulb in the closet for one day to extend the amount of time before they are too dry. lazy? me?

the first pics are the apollo 11s. i'm truly bummed because i didn't get a male but these are lovely and there are definately some differences in them. nice sativa dominant look. i also have some apollo 13 F2s i made like 12 years or so ago. i have some seedlings in veg now and will breed the apollo 13 to the 11s. i also have a bunch of cinderella 88s from the old days. i will do some experimenting and see if i can't come up with something special.

oddly enough, one of my favorite strains are the apollo 11/cindy 88 crosses i made. for me, it's almost perfect. the cindy 88 is WAY too speedy but makes a good full sativa (mature in under 50 days ) breeding experiment. tiny seeds, big buzz!

i'll be rambling more later and should have all the pics up saturday sometime. i'm hoping to get high speed dail up after i dry these beauties. i can't stop growing long enough to get a cable guy in here!

howdy dog. after all these years, it's normal for me to sit here for a couple hours to do what a high speed could do in 10 mins. lol.

this pic is one last apollo for a bit. then the the bubble gums, then my clones and seedlings then the drying mass of buds in about 2.5 weeks.

i did a whole grow from start to finish as fatboyOGOF. then broke my camera. i am still getting pics that are a bit fuzzy but i'm working on it.




a lovely smell from all but i believe i'm looking for the lemonest smell. i belive i have a winner.

i'm very high on some stonehenge at the moment. damn i love reefer.

some details while these damned pics slooooooly load. they are all in 2 gallon grow bags. they were kept in too small containers while in veg but that is the price i pay for wanting at least 20 plants at a time. once i rip the roots about and put them into the 2 gall bags, they go ape shit wild.

i use black gold soil and perlight. about 1/3 is perlight. love the black gold all purpose.

i also throw in some bat crap and bonemeal when i'm in the mood. i usually don't so i don't know if it is very effective. it's that lazy thing again.

here are some bubble gums. i have 16 or 17 of them. they are clones from a failed last grow. some pics in my gallery show the disaster. i of course bred them.

How do you find the finishing time to be?

I have cut this cross down 50 to 55 days, and is very close to couch lock

How do you like the apollo, I just got 1 as a clone,and have not tried it out yet.

as far as how long i'm flowering, one apollo is finishing faster than the others. i will probably cut her at 46 days as i can't wait to try her. i will check the trichs first. i typically cut them when they are 1/2 clear and 1/2 cloudy and when they are all cloudy at 5% or so amber.

the apollo 13 is just flat out lovely. it is a choker pot that makes you cough. great taste, smell and buzz.

hey hydro. i just realized i have some bogbubble too. i'll have to cross the two. i have the variety pack from bog so i'm not sure which is the bogbubble but i will figure it out.

welcome to the jungle. 20 or 21 plants. i train them for multiple bud sites. they average 2.5 foot tall with 6 largeish colas. i took multiple clones of 7 or 8 bubble gums and i have definatly found the largest of the bunch. hopefully she is as tasty. 3 clones are 3 foot plus. lovely buggers.

i'm using 1000 watt hps in the flower room and a 400 mh in the veg closet. flower room is only 5' by 5.5' by 11 foot high. the veg room is about 2.5 x 2.5 foot square. i can sqeeze 20 to 24 clones in there. snug but very doable. i like my girls to touch anyway.

beautiful hydro. such a deep shade of green. nothing like multiple bud sites eh? when i see a naturaly growing pot plant, it looks odd to me.

i had some sweet tooth #4. that stuff is way too hermie. i still have some F1 seeds somewhere. no reason to grow them out. hermies? just say NO!

i keep getting new genetics but i still have to try a bunch of crosses i've made over the years. i need a few more closets!

i'll start this again tomorrow.

This baby is perfect from what I am told to do scrog It has a shit load of rock hard bud sites.
none are huge but all are about the same size.

And who don't need more rom,lol

My space is a closet 5ft wide by 3 feeet deep by 7 foot high.
and a 400 what HPS and $00w MH conversion bulb.

well, i found the microscope but i can't find the disk to reload it. it got wiped when my computer melted down a few months ago.

here is just a bit of the top cola. they are at 45 days. i want something special for my wake and bake tomorrow. time for some computer drying.

how cool is it that we can just go into a closet and cut a bud? there is nothing like it.

i want to post the rest but it's sci fi night. i'll finish up tomorrow and have some smoke reports over the next couple weeks. i'm impatient and some of the bubble gum and the apollo look just almost, close, to being done but i know they are not quite ready... patience my ass, i'm going to cut something!

more apollos. they are lovely and have a nice fruity smell. i'm going to have my gf smell them tomorrow and tell me if the one is lemony or if it's me hoping.

Trust me friend, there will be pollen flying this coming summer...planning to make enough A13 F3's to feed a small army of chipmunks, and there will be a few cindy girls on the recieving end also..haha!!

Your gonna love the A11, please let me know how it compares to the other Apollo...(from what ie read, the A13 is heavyer and leans more towards genius...)

sweet jesus. i've smoked 1/2 a joint of 44 day old apollo bud. let me be clear, I AM FUCKING DELIGHTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

truly lovely. i'm smiling ear to ear my friend.

the A13 is more indica. although it isn't heavily indica, i would use it as my night time high. the color of the buds is almost the same but the A13 is a "brighter" reddish color. it's beutiful.

you will not confuse the high of the two. quite different. the A13 will make you cough when you first start hitting it. it's not harsh, it just "fills" your lungs to bursting. when you cough from her, you will laugh and remember my words.

both are 9's on my scale and i haven't even let the A11 go as long as it should or cured it. color me a happy fatboy!

i need some apollo 11 pollen. i'm bummed. i will be extra careful and keep some clones of these beauties for as long as possible. my babies!

here is a pic from day 26 or so as soon as my dail up quits annoying me. i was worried as this one had some very odd looking leaves but it didn't affect anything and they lived a normal life.

i have 27 clones and seedlings. the clones are 3 or 4 each of all the apollo 11 females and 8 or 9 apollo 13 seedlings. i need a male to breed with the A11 fems.

i'm going to do most of my next crop as apollo. i know i will love the bubble gum too but i am digging this high.

i bought a lock box to keep my gf from smoking all of my primo reefer. she's got some wacky idea that she should be able to smoke at least as much of my reefer as i do. lol. she's so cute.

here they are layed out. in reality, they are crammed into my little closet. all have been tied down and will have multiple bud sites. their pots are way to small but i've been doing it this way for years. i grow plenty.





i'm off to smoke more apollo and play a game.

i bought my bros grimm genetics, cindy 88 and apollo 13 a long time ago, i can't quite make out the post mark, its jan 4, 1998 or 99. i got the last couple of packs of apollo 13. i was cleaning out something a couple months ago and found this.

i cut an apollo and a bubble gum last night. the apollo is what i already smoked so i know i love it. i'm smoking the bubble now. it's nice but not great. then again, i cut it at 46 days and it's supposed to go for 56 to 63. lol. i'm thinking i'm going to be very happy with the bubble in another couple weeks.

here are some trich shots. i use a digital blue microscope to take the pics. it's not great but it helps my old eyes with the color of the trichs.
