Aphid/Whitefly attack late in flower

D

DJ_highst_

Went out of town for a few days and when I got back a plant I have outside got a massive aphid/white-fly infestation. The plant is about 7-10 days from harvest.

I am not sure how to defend against them this late in flower. I know sometimes you can spray aphids with a fine mist under high pressure and they die from the impact of the spray, but I dont want to mutilate the flowers. I dont want to spary with any neem of anything.

Should I just cut it early and do a water cure to get rid of pest?

Any tips would be much appreciated.

use a shop vacuum cleaner and suck up as much of the bugs you can, if your gentel then you can suck them right off the leafs.

thanks for the reply. Thats a pretty creative solution. could I use the vac, then try to spray down lightly with water the rest.

I got a great link to some companion plants that I am going to introduce into the garden to help counteract the problem next time.

Safer's also makes an insecticidal soap. It only kills the insects on contact and is only active while wet.
