Anyway to get more wattage? (blowing circuits...)

So, I live in a small shitty place and I'm running 2200W flower lights+fans and veg lights, and I'm right below the point where the breaker trips... (If I plug in a vacuum it's all over.)

This sucks, because I want to get a new TV which will be 2 or 300 watts and therefore won't work... Is there anyway to modify my power that would be removable (I'm in a rental?) Would that be safe if it's even possible?

Rent the apartment next door.

Punch a hole through the wall and run a heavy duty extension cord (10 or 8 guage wire) the shortest distance possible to your lights.

Tell the hardware store you have 2 1000W heaters you need to put on a separate circuit. They'll get you the correct guage wire for the length you specify.

Personally I think you're looking at a fire hazard and should seriously look into re-thinking your setup.

Never play with electricity if you dont know the basics even, but you have to find which breakers all your appliances are on. If all them are being used by big appliance, maybe you need to look into running a few more 15 amp breakers into your panel box and run two seperate circuits for each different light and or fans

If not get an electrician to come and wire a few more breakers for ya

Dont go and rent the next apartment and punch any holes in any walls !!! heat score

you could reire ur lights to run 220 if theres 220 in ur place...that way you'll be drawing half the amps per light...like right now ur 1000 watt lights run at 9 amps a piece or so on 110,if they were at 220 they would run 4 1/2 amps...although i agree whole heartedly with the above avice,if you dont know electrical, then dont play with it.its dangrous yo,ur talkin major power.be safe and good luck.

if it were me, I would store any 1000 watt lights in current use and replace with 600's. when you are able to get to a better place that can handle the load of 1000 watt lights, then dust'em off and use those.

Dont get more amps by going 220.

Easyiest way is if there are spare spots for breakers in the panel Make a mother board with all your outlets and a cord going to the breakers. If you have an electric dryer you could use that outlet.

get larger amperage brakers. Dont go too much higher if your using your homes wiring system. Only pump it like 5 amp's 15 to 20, or 20 to 25. Remember its Volts Times Amps = Watt's. So a 15 amp braker in a 120v house is 1800 Watt's But it drops 100 watts it can handle every 10 feet its ran or so .. DO NOT GO FROM 15 - 30 AMPS AND EXPECT YOUR HOUSE TO TO CATCH FIRE.

the shoddy advice never ends when it comes to electrical on this site.

Tona is right, if you can do 220v, you can double the lights on that circuit.
prolly require rewiring a few things, unless you have a dryer outlet or something you can plug into.
only other good advice i saw here was to cut down to 600's
that would be the easiest way for you if you have NO electrical exp.
if you arent handy and sure of yourself, hire a sparky.
you dont want the fire dept to hose down your burning plants and house while the cops drag you away for cultivation :(

p.s. do NOT up the size of your breaker!!!!!!!!!!!!
breaker size is directly connected to wire size.
if the wire isnt big enough, the wire wont handle the extra load it wasnt intended for originally.
i see this shit advice more than anything around here.
burn down your own grow, but dont let your misinformation spread to others like herpes.

You could run a 10-2 w/g romex or an extension cord from your panel to grow....
Do you have base board electric heaters?

Electrical capacity is your limit. The next step is either to upgrade the electircal, so this will cost cash, or use window or patio/balcony lighting to help out some how.

"Do you have base board electric heaters?"

No idea...

I know somebody who's going to take a look at it... I'm running two 600s and one 1000 right now, I don't really have cash to pick up 2 more 600s to replace the 1000....

Yeah, fire hazards are what I'm most afraid of so I figure it's better to shell out if it's safe and removable. I'll post up on what I end up doing.

I'm with you here.

No, but you do get more flexibility and less "wasted amps".

Why wont you flip flop your light schedules... Put a light proof divider in your grow and separate the lights. Then run one for 12 hours then when it goes off the other light goes on... This will free up your breaker as well be a lot safer....I would not be about to ad anything else to it but this should eliminate one problem

Basically agree wit the agree. Wire the ballasts up for 220 and find a circuit that can handle it like a stove or dryer outlet and just run the lights on the off hours...I mean like 8 PM to 8 AM. The dryer circuit is best to use and stove next cause easy to dry clothes around that schedule. As for the change to 600's...why bother investing in new equipment...just cut down on the amount of lights you're currently using.

IMHO running a flip/flop seems to be a bit more complicated and involved than most [who have not set one up] would think. It means duplicating a lot of equipment and other misc. costs as well.

I've already got them flip-flopped, one runs during the day and one is at night, and I'm doing like 500 watts for moms and clones... haven't done anything yet I think I might just wait until I move out of this shithole to throw more up..
