Anyone with an uncovered res in a hydrohut have problems with ecessive evaporation?

I have an ebb and flow setup in a hydrohut with an uncovered res below the tray. I flushed to 1100 ppm and two days later it was at 1350 or so. I have to add water every other day to keep the ppm within reason. I believe that a bunch of water is evaporating. Do any of you guys have this problem?

Rh in the hut is pretty high too. Much higher than I would have anticipated since I added co2 and killed the fan pulling air out.

First, cover the res. If the problem continues, you're drinking more water than nutes and you should lower the strength of your nute solution.

Bro - you should NEVER leave a rez open unless it's in a completely dark chamber with no chance of light entering (which is a rare option). You'll face fungi, root rot and evaporation to just name a few... There's a reason we all seal em up nice n tight and them insulate them as well to block the light.

Keep readin....

The res is under the table. The end which has more exposure to light is covered, but the bulk of it is uncovered. I'll try to get under there today and covere it up better.

Yeah, I'm concerened about rot too. That would majorly suck....

I run an uncovered reservoir under my ebb & flow table but don't have much if any evaporation...my plants in full tilt mode will drink 3-5 gallons of water a day, massive rootmass is the ticket.....a gallon or two a day is no big deal at all in flower
