Anyone using hydrofarm light rails

I have just purchased a pair of hydrofarm light rails if you have either the 4' or 6' rail you may be able to answer this question as you know there is a bolt in one end that acts as the stop for one end , what I am wondering is as I need to actually shorten the distance traveled so wondering If anyone knows if I was to drill a new hole in the light rail for the stop bolt will this effect its operation as far as I know the motor works on a friction effect when it cant move anyfurther it just reverses is this correct?

If this is the rail you're talking about, the motor only goes one way and does not reverse. The light travels the length of the rail and can't be shortened. You should probably read the directions.
