Anyone using a portable AC unit to cool yo shit?

I hey guys im thinkin about buying a portable AC unit.To give you some idea it will be cooling a large walk in closet. Anyways what size should i get? Im thinkin 6000-8000btu would be fine.What brands are reliable and long lastin? I dont want to spend more than 400-500 bucks?

I read an article a few years ago about a guy who converted a regular window unit into a portable unit by using a rubbermaid tub or some such. Wish I could find that again. It may have been in HighTimes...can't remember. Anyway, seems there was a dryer duct connected to the tub to direct the air to outdoors; not sure how the drip tube was handled. Anybody?

If you use a portable whether its single or dual hose,dont use co2 enrichment cause you'll just be robbed

With either carbon scrubbing or a vaprtronic unit I reckon,my exhaust blew into the attic but I used ionizers then.Like I said it'll rob your co2 enrichment also if you use it.I have a 10 by 10 room with a large closet I use to veg in,I have a window unit on the opposite wall.I hung an air circulator(big fan) from a chain in the ceiling directly in front of the cold air grills,turned on low it carries the cold air directly into the closet 10 feet away.Just another option if you have a window opposite your veg closet
