Anyone used Grateful Garden Supply?

I was wondering if any of my legal Oregon peeps have used Grateful Garden Supply. They are a OMMP card holder only store but you have to join Oregon Green Free @ $60 a year and I wanted to know if the prices at GGS were low enough to offset it. I would also like to know of any ones experience dealing with GGS, good bad or indifferent.

Thanks :joint:

It used to be that MrFixIt @ OGF had some kind of deal with American Ag over on SE Stark which is why OGF pushes their garbage potting soil - Blackjack Potting Soil. It's a good 'soil' for breeding gnats, aphids and spider mites so they do have that going for them.

The scam between OGF and American Ag works like this - American Ag sells everything in their store at MSRP - period. OGF gets a huge break off of this price and then gives their 'members' a 20% discount off of American Ag's pricing. Pretty compassionate isn't it? I'm all chocked up and stuff.

OTOH, you can go to a number of other stores and get 15% - 20% discounts all day long. And most will have a greater selection than American Ag carries. It's not that AA can't get it - all of the stores in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington buy their products from the national indoor garden distributor National Garden Wholesale which has a large operation in Vancouver, Washington.

Indoor garden stores is a whore industry but American Ag, Everyone's Garden Center and several others just take it to a new level. It's probably because both of these operations were 2 of the original 5 indoor garden stores in the beginning, circa 1983. There were 3 in Portland and 2 in Seattle.

Good luck on your search.

Thanks for the reply CC, I was all hot on joining Oregon Green Free after talking to a couple of IC peeps so I sent them an email with scans of my ID and card attached a week ago today and still have not heard back from them. Honestly I am glad now and plan to stay away. Both of the local hydro shops I use give EVERYONE 10% off of MSRP and will usually give a better deal if you ask.
