Anyone use this PAR meter?

Im setting up a tent for the first time and am anal, but too broke to soothe all my worries. I cant spend the +300$ for some of these meters and was curious if anyone on here has used this meter before? I can ball park without it, but just got some new COB lights and I know their penetration is a lot different than the 1w diodes Ive been using from 2011.

Worried this is just a lux meter that just converts the number via some calculation.

I clicked on the link provided and followed through to product specifications.

This unit is based on the Apogee Quantum Flux meter, and they superimposed graphs, which show close to identical responses. Hydrofarm seems more accurate in the blue and less accurate in the red.

I use the Apogee and there looks to be little difference. I do use color meters (red, blue, UVB, Lumens are green) to check what the photons being counted consist of.
