Anyone use fresh frozen material for bubble hash?

Like the title says, curious if anyone has tried or has info about using fresh frozen material to make ice/bubble hash?

Curious if it would work well. Trying to skip the drying process with some popcorn nugs, so I am going to freeze them fresh, then toss them in the ice water and proceed like normal.

Hopefully it works, sort of concerned that freezing the fresh material might do some sort of damage to the plant tissue from the water expanding. Possibly ruining the flavor.

If anyone wants to chime in, would appreciate it.

Tks,
Mr^^

Yo Med! In my experience... fresh frozen material creates a super sticky melt full of terpenes that give a strong aroma/flavor, but with a significantly reduced yield. Good luck!

Yep. Fresh trim went right into a tupperware and into the freezer. When I had a good amount, into the bucket it went.

Way more hash when dry.

Imo, fresh frozen makes a better quality finished product than dried then reweted.

Sure would be nice if peeps would use the srarch function. Thread redundancy is a real problem in the conncentrates section. :-/

Ive seen it go both ways to be honest..especially with CBD material, its fire either way. But with FF you're guaranteed for it to come out as terpy and melty as possible as long as its descent material. The biggest difference is the yield fresh frozen is like 5%-12%. While dry material would be 7%-16% (if your lucky).

This thread is in the wrong forum, it should be in the Hashish forum, not the "dissolve trichomes in petrochemicals" forum.

and I'm mostly a dry sifter with fairly limited Bubblebag experience, so please let me know why Bubblebag fresh frozen derived resin be a lower yield than Bubblebagging resin from the same material that was dried first? Is it because the actual resin yield is the same, but dried plant material resin has more contaminant and so ends up weighing more? ..or because the fresh frozen plant material still has resin on it after the ice/water/Bubblebag process?

I tend to find less contamination in fresh frozen. Imo that is due more to handling. Dry trim is typically handled more previous to sifting.
Also, some of the terpins evaporate during the drying process. That has to cause some loss of finished product.

I'm prob just talkin outa my ass though. lol

The idea of Bubble is to get the Thrices as cold as possible , when very cold they snap off cleanly . You are just wasting time drying trim/bud then chucking it into freezing cold water .
