yeah man, it definatly works, i started a thread like this last yr with not much for answers either. so i just went ahead and did it.

put your clones in the ez and put them under some floro's under 12/12, some will show sex before roots, some show sex about the same time as roots, some will grow roots before showing sex, i think it depends on the strain and how mature the the plant is that you take the cuts off....but yeah it works fine....i probably sexed 20 strains this way in the last yr....tons for outdoor last spring....and i'll be doing it again very shortly.

Why would you clone an unsexed plant? Am I missing something?

yup... my last grow i took clones... just plopped them in a cup of water ... put them under about 50w of flouros on 12/12 and they showed sex...

they actually showed roots before sex oddly enough... 2 of them were showing roots in 6 days... took 2 weeks to sex a few of them... 3 weeks to sex them all

heres some pics after 3 weeks... one of a male... one of a female... one of the roots @ 6 days

i do it for this reason

say you got a 10 pack of sensi star for outdoors, 8 germ, u grow the 8 unsexed plants for awhile,u take a couple cuts off the donars.. u put them in the ez cloner under 12/12 and save yourself up to a month of time....some people would put them in the cloner for 7-21 days until they have roots, transplant, then sex them....i like to skip root time, transplant time and get sex all in 1 shot.

you'll get sex quicker with your clones if your donar plant is more sexually mature...instead of say 2 weeks old.

some peeps will say wait until you see pre flowers but sometimes people don't have that much space if they are waiting on preflowers of a bunch of strains...no time or space to have a bunch of males.

some will say do the opposite and sex the donar plant after you take a couple cuts of each donar but then after they show sex you still have to transplant all your female clones and veg them for a long time to get alot of cuts.

Here's a great tip for all you cutting sexers, put your cut under 14 dark 10 light and it'll knock a couple days off the 12/12 photoperiod every time, remember they dont have to root to show sex and the extra dark gives them a kick in the ass.

I do sort of the oposite. After i take 3 cuts each and I am sure they will live, I flower the mothers and then discard any male plants and cuttings. This way they are already fully veged and I can use the 8 week flowering time to veg the cuttings.

By the time you take the cutting and do the light thing to the clone....

The seed plant is already showing.....

Take a few clones or just one from every seedling as soon as possible then flower the seedlings and put the clones in veg . As soon as the seedlings show sex you get rid of the males (from seed and thier clones).

Now keep all the female clones in veg and let the plants from seed finish . Then you select out the clone(s) from the fenotype that is your favorite. This is going to be your new mother plant.
