I have a large adjust a wing reflector which I don't like because of the shadow in the middle when the wings are fully extended and as you pull them closer it seems to help but really it's just better or creates hot spots. I was curious if I ran two, would the neighboring light help cancel out the shadow? I have a spreader as well but hated it so much that I bought a raptor dual bulb hood for when I put my girls into bloom a while back.
I want to put the hood in my tent but I'm pretty sure it is far too heavy but thought I could build a beam inside for it to hang separate from the tent. However, I can run two 1000w bulbs in it and the light pattern is top notch but building everything sounds pretty exhausting at the moment, but it would be cheaper than purchasing a reflector/spreader combo which is highly important right now. if I were to run two bulbs in it, would that increase the light pattern so I could use that exclusively in the 4x8 tent?
the light pattern "advertised" is something like 5x7 ft but that was at a height of 6 ft for the adjust a wing large so I'm not too sure how to gauge this. it's really more like 4x4 tops. 3x3 works great.
the light pattern is not advertised for the raptor dual bulb but I found a PAR test using a similar Raptor reflector which says 5x5 but 4.5 ft looked more accurate and that was at a height of 24 inches. the 4.5 ft markers show similar PAR readings as the adjust a wings does at their second best points to give you an idea of quality or what ever.
I was hoping someone out there was running two 1000w adjust a wings side by side and if that helped with the shadow or any advice really on how I should set up the lights. they're in a sun hut big easy tent if that helps.
